Shepard's(along with most of the other characters) animations are very repetitive. He cracks his knuckles every three seconds, and if he isnt doing that he is doing the lean-back cross arms thing. He does latter almost non-stop whenever i am talking to TIM and it gets pretty old. The cracking of the knuckles had a good effect the first time but it definitely lost its luster at about the 8th time. And Shepard also has a pretty goofy/pedophile like smile, that could use some work as well.
And im not trying to bash ME 2 all im saying is that there should be some more variety in the animations:bandit:

I remember in the old days when our characters would stand still like blocks. How more realistic can we go with what we have? Should they hire a guy to stand and make different movements live all day and pipe it to us thru the internet?

You think that's bad, you should see femShep's "come hither" squint whenever she talks to Jacob.

You have to admit though, the scenes are best when both meld well.

It improved over ME1's animations, but yeah, all the characters gesticulated pretty much the same way. Not a big deal at all, through.

Agreed. The facial animations for my maleshep look wierd, lots of strange lecherous smiles. He looks too darn happy sometimes. I don't notice it as much on my femshep even though the expressions were the same. Maybe the voice and facial expressions didn't quite match up, but something was off. Not necessarily bad, but just wierd IMHO.

i don't know, I mean sometimes i think the animations can get repetitive, but just compare this games graphics and animations to something like KOTOR, which only came out in 2003, and I'm grateful how far mass effect has come in terms of the way it looks.
But that aside, male shepards pedo smile gives me nightmares.
