It's a compleate fail at common sense to asume that romances affect other content... compared to the rest of the game - they probobly take something like 2% of it, even in the matter of space. It's just few more lines of dialogue, few more motion capture scripts, 3 or 5 more camera angles set...

If you seriously want to blame something for lack of other content - make another thread about the new buffed combat system and better graphics because that's what you obviously want to complain about - that's what is taking half of the game's memory limit.

You guys are just annoyed with people getting freaky about love interest, I can understand it, but don't cheat yourselfes by making compleatly idiotic statements about romances taking away from the game.

Think of it this way, those few lines and motion capture sets, could be instead of those few lines and motion capture sets of the crew doing things togheter, actually showing the card game in the engine room, actually showing the crew having a meal togheter and enjoying it after you bring in the new rations and so on.

The romance subplots all togheter are not that small and they still are quite a big amount of content when put togheter, so i doubt my statements are more idiotic than the solid numbers and percentages you provided about the size of the romance content.

In the end i doubt anyone here is complaining about ME2, i certainly am not, i just don't want the importance or size of the romance content to be increased in relation to other aspect of ME3.

If the whole game gets bigger the romances should also get bigger, but their relation should stay the same, for example 30/70, and thats just a random number, but should make my point i hope.

It's actually more like 20/80 now.

Mmm... the romance is part of the life, and part of the game, no the game... there is nothing bad in it.

having a new writer doesn't change that much of the games gameplay last time i checked. even so, writers by nature of their profession are able to pick up existing stories and their backstories and continue them in a faithful manner.

in case some of you didnt know, almost all tv shows have different writers every episode, but the episode almost always feels like it belongs with the show.

furthermor, because i REALLY dont think anyone of you are getting this point yet. i am not arguing that romance should be completely removed or that no one should like or post about it. just that they should stop asking for it to be more and more prevelant in the game. it should always remain at the bottom of everything else because it has the least to do with what the game is. yes, yes it helps develop the characters but not really, tali all of a sudden wanting to bone you after your second conversation with here regardless of how you treated her in the first or second game is just ridiculously blatent fanboy catering. besides, its perfectly possible to develop a character without hopping in the sack with them.

I already responded to your baseless and idiotic gameplay assertions, which you then failed to reply to. You either know you're wrong there or you are backtracking. Which is it?
The writer did do a faithful job. You're ****ing that it wasn't a replica.
AS for your TV writer standpoint: Most TV shows are of the half-hour or hour variety and are overseen. Also, if you have noticed, TVs shows do rise and fall in quality. Great shows don't remain great forever. The answer? Writing, specifically the infuse of new talent not necessarily best qualified for the job at hand. Bad writers? No. Learning the rhythm of the show they are working on can be hard.

That is very much like this case. The writer was good and did a mostly fantastic job, but inter-squad extra dialogue was not his strong point in terms of quantity. The lines were good- the amount of them was not and thus pacing suffered.
If you don't think that having different writers will produce different results, then you don't know anything about writing.

I feel this thread should be used to encourage the creation of hilarious memes, rather than to continually beat the thoroughly dead horse that is this discussion.

This is my own paltry effort, someone do better.

Better than my attempt. My attempt got trolled and disappeared faster than Paris Hiltons acting career.

What was your attempt?

The "Cool Story Bro" chair thingy.

It made me giggle.

ME1 was longer because you spent so much time on the Mako trying to fire a gun at things and driving around and around........you also spent a long time riding elevators and running around the citadel............................IMO

And you can have sex with Morigan from DAO just after leaving Loithering... that is one mission after she joins. And you can be a dvarf. Still - thousands of people say she was awesome. Go fight with them will you?

What the **** has morigan or DAO have to do with ME2. The point is that I have never seen a more shalow romance then in this game(ME2)

My God you have more conversation with a call girl in RL then with the Romance options in this game.

Also with Morigan you have to through her whole convo tree and agree with her before haveing sex with her, and that whole tree is longer then the convos with tali and miranda combined, and this is only to have sex with morigan nerver mind the love, which will take you much longer.

Romance is a very important aspect of life. The lack of significance of romance in previous games only shows that video games were still considered a minority story telling device, with stereotypical restriction such as "nerdiness" and "anti-social".
Therefore, the increase in the importance and depth of romance in video games indicates that video game is taking a greater role in story telling---they start to reflect our life better, and the people will soon be more adapted to video games, like they do movies and novels. You don't complain romance is not minor enough in movies and novels, do you?

why are you still talking about the writer? in one of my points i already said that its probably just as relevent to why some things were wrong with the game but not at all relevent to MY problems with the game. i believe that its fans shrieking for more graphic sex and romance that led to them being more prevelant and other blatent flaws being ignored. you think its the writers fault theres less dialogue, which may be true but im talking about more than just dialogue.

now how about you argue like a normal person and stop thinking that if i dont respond to every post on this 10page thread that you have somehow bested me.

anyway, feel free to retort or whatever and ill respond tommorrow because its quite late in england and ive got work tomorrow.

""Acording to your logic - we should be also pissed about the fact that enemies shout anything more than "I WILL DESTROY YOU" and "I'LL KILL YOU" like in Mass Effect. Those several lines enemies have now could be spent on something else too... just as any other part of the game could be something else.

Legion has dialogue recorded in every mission past Mordin's recruitment - however you can't hear it because he's recrutaible nearly in the end of this game, you can only experience those lines of dialogue if you hack the game and make unlock him from the start. Other characters have those kind of hidden/impossible dialogue too, why not rant about BioWare not removing content that is scraps from previous desings, but instead rand about something irrevelant?""
-Mr. Kusey

Why do you think Legion was implemented that way and those recorded lines are not attainable properly? I would assume time constraints, time spent making some other aspect of the game better. Was it spent on romance? Probably not, maybe it was spent on the combat, which i love. Could be any number of things, the fact is, they were not properly in the game, because something else was deemed to be better.

The same thing applies to every aspect of the game. Why you keep insisting that romances are any different is beyond me.

(edited: isnt showing who i quoted for me, so i edited to show)

Sooo much anger. Is it just me or maybe, just maybe, those that are obsessed enough to keep trolling about how other people enjoy the game are truly the ones that need to "get a life".
