It's a compleate fail at common sense to asume that romances affect other content... compared to the rest of the game - they probobly take something like 2% of it, even in the matter of space. It's just few more lines of dialogue, few more motion capture scripts, 3 or 5 more camera angles set...
If you seriously want to blame something for lack of other content - make another thread about the new buffed combat system and better graphics because that's what you obviously want to complain about - that's what is taking half of the game's memory limit.
You guys are just annoyed with people getting freaky about love interest, I can understand it, but don't cheat yourselfes by making compleatly idiotic statements about romances taking away from the game.
Think of it this way, those few lines and motion capture sets, could be instead of those few lines and motion capture sets of the crew doing things togheter, actually showing the card game in the engine room, actually showing the crew having a meal togheter and enjoying it after you bring in the new rations and so on.
The romance subplots all togheter are not that small and they still are quite a big amount of content when put togheter, so i doubt my statements are more idiotic than the solid numbers and percentages you provided about the size of the romance content.
In the end i doubt anyone here is complaining about ME2, i certainly am not, i just don't want the importance or size of the romance content to be increased in relation to other aspect of ME3.
If the whole game gets bigger the romances should also get bigger, but their relation should stay the same, for example 30/70, and thats just a random number, but should make my point i hope.
It's actually more like 20/80 now.
