I downloaded the patch and installed it, now I can't play the game.  It won't even start from the start screen.  Is the only way to fix this is to uninstall the re-install?   Help please

I am also having troubles after applying the patch. Possibly because I am running Vista/64?

lost power today while playing the game....now the game says "steam has found a problem with your local game files. game fiels will now be re-acquired form the Steam Servers"



but it doesn't do anything

Fix it by updating your VC++ 2005 runtime pack, which you can download here

You'll need to install the x86 version, even if you run a 64-bit operating system.

Same issue here. I followed the instructions from tengumai2 though, and now I can run it again. Thanks bro!

this is without a patch. black screen, tryed to reinstall and still game will not start
