Okay, so here it goes, i went through all the stuff during the first
prologue, like watching the normandy blow up, but after that, after the
movie where shepard gets revived, during the loading, it crashes.
so my question is, what's wrong? what should i do to fix this?
Game crashes after first proloque while loading the second prologue?

Sorry, but that's just not adequate. Intel makes millions of CPUs, of which there have been literally dozens with core speeds such as that. Please see Chris' post, and use that as your guide (second one pinned on top) to expand on the needed diagnostic information. Thank you. .

I have this problem too.
I played through the little intro where you walk around in the blown up ship and I watched Shep get revived. I got to the loading screen and it kept looping the heart rate part and my computer stopped responding to anything. I have to do a hard shutdown to get going again.
Vista Home Premium
Intel Core2Duo Processor T7100 1.80GHz
3 gig ram
Plenty of free harddisk space
ATI Mobility Radeon X2300
All the latest DirectX things.
Realtek High Definition Audio Driver 6.0.1.5983
Just finished playing (smoothly on low graphics) Dragon Age Origins.
Please help. I played ME1 and loved it and now, I know that my computer can actually run ME2 because I played that little cutscene with 0 lag but I can't create a new character (lost my ME1 character).
I hope the information provided is enough and thanks

I can't imagine that little laptop handling Dragon Age at all nicely with just a puny onboard chip like that. Both games' official minimum calls for an actual circuit board type add-on card from ATI or nVIDIA. You don't have it, and your CPU barely meets the minimum.

well DA ran nice and i finished the game with no problems with anything except the high dragon.
I ran ME2 in windowed mode and it went to the character creation screen finally but after creating my face and choosing classes/origins, it loaded another time and then froze up. I tried it again but this time, it froze back after the movies. It seems random.
I tweaked my computer a bit to handle some better games. Fallout 3 is ok but low graphics, ME1 medium low graphics runs smooth. DAo on low/medium. Basically any game made after 2008 on low runs fine. Maybe ME2 is the cracking point of my laptop.

There was no need AT ALL to start up anything new, all over again.dragon7master wrote...

You should have added the name of the CPU, and previously omitted data to your original message, starting this thread, in an edit, and then bumped it.
1. OS: Windows XP SP3
2. CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo
3. RAM: 2 GB
4. VIDEO: nVidia GeForce 9500
5. AUDIO: DirectX 9.0c compatible
6. DirectX 9.0c August 2008

Found the solution to our problem mate over on another forum:

Download this then extract the file into \\\\\\\\Mass Effect 2\\\\\\\\BioGame\\\\\\\\CookedPC\\\\\\\\
This stops the glitch at the load after the normandy blows up, the games working fine for me now and I'm having a blast!
