Squad Countermanding Ingame Options

I orginally posted the following in the discussion Forums;;

I've got Zaeed and Jacob in my squad in my second playthrough on my
character on the 360
Jacob has Flame Ammuntion  for everyone to have
access to the ammuntion, Zaeed has Disruptor.

I was in the
proccess of chewing through some defenders in an unnamed place in an
unnamed part of the game, when I realized that I've been firing
disruptor ammunition at the enemy.  I hit my hot key to bring up flame
rounds and procceed to tear into a Krogan whose charging at me.  Midway
in emptying out a 80 rounds into this (@$%, and I'm suddenly BACK to
Disruptor ammunition.
Hilarity Insues. I die.
I switch orders off,
re-load the game, move on.
Half way through another fire-fight, I
realize Disruptor ammo has been passed out without my commands, and I
flick it back to flame.  Same firefight, Zaeed throws us right back to
Disruptor.  I re-load at the start of the mission, and throw the dead
eyed ****** out of my fire-team till I know I'm going to be strangling
geth.

Powers are turned off, they can't use them without my say. 
Zaeed however, seems to be the excpetion to the rule.
Anyone else
having that sort of problem with mutinous squad mates? ../../../images/forum/emoticons/wondering.png


I've recently attempted another playthough on the Insanity difficulty, wherein using the wrong type of aummnition equals all sorts of problems.  The Powers are TURNED OFF in the ingame options, NONE of the squad members however, seem to care when it comes down to using the ammuntion abilities.

I'd like to make a request that this problem gets looked into; if this hasn't already been pointed out.

 From the description of Squad Power from inside the game (just hover over the option):
"When enabled, squad members automatically use their most effective powers in combat. When disabled, squad members only use defensive and ammo powers automatically ."

The whole squad constantly deciding to override each other's squad ammos suck, kind of a pretty big oversight.

Though, I guess I just saw the 'powers off and assume they'd not use the capabilities. God it took -forever- to get through that Colony thanks to soddin Jacob.

I would have left his sorry self behind but Oh no...

I agree it's a pain in the butt. I picked Squad Warp ammo as my bonus power, but the squaddies like to add their own ammo power, even if it's only level 1. Grrr.
