Hi, I just started a new game plus on Mass Effect 1, and I just got done with Feros. I killed every colonist, refused to use the thorian gas, and didn't melee at all on my assault on the colony. However, after I killed the Thorian, lo and behold, I "saved the colony," even though it is completely unpopulated. I've tried to redo the mission from five different saves. Is there anything short of restarting the whole mission/game that will solve this problem?

I loaded the farthest save back, and the bug continues to plague my game. If this is a recurring problem across my saves, even if I start a new game, what are the possible causes for such a bug? If anyone has any helpful advice, I could really use it.

as far as i know that's the way it should be, you saved the colony and those who were at the camp, just not the colonists in zhu's hope...or did i miss something?

Did you save Ethan Jeong with either the Pragon choice or Renegade? If you did, then the colony would be saved because ExoGeni would continue to fund the colony even if you killed everyone from Zhu's Hope.
If you killed him with the 'neutral' choice, ExoGeni would cease their support. If you killed everyone at Zhu's Hope, then the colony will be abandoned.

Pretty much. Shoot Jeong, kill colonists, and Lizbeth's mom will say something about "We'll rebuild, just not here."
