Does anyone wish that Jack was not a required teammate?

I am not bashing Jack or anything, but I really do not see the point in recruiting an unstable biotic who hates Cerberus and has a fetish for killing. She is definitely not the most trustworthy. Plus, the story would not suffer in any way if she was not a required team member.

She's a pretty interesting character and she did change a little bit after her loyalty mission.

Why recruit her? You said it yourself. She hates Cerberus. That makes her one of the best allies to have your back next to Tali and Garrus.

She's pretty trustworthy too. In that she does what she says 100% of the time. You'll always know exactly where you stand with her. She's not big on Bullsh*t.

For alot of my characters I really couldn't understand why I would ever recruit her. Because Bioware wants us to I guess.

I like her character in some ways though. The voice acting is very well done.

I would like an option to humble her for telling me she would take my ship if she wanted to. A full on battle scene controlled by the IN GAME mechanics not the fairytale cutscenes and at the end she is absolutley flabbergasted that my Shepard not only bested her easily, but used FAR SUPERIOR biotic abilities to do so.

She's also an unpredictable psychopath. Not sure if I would feel safe watching my back in real life.

True she hates Cerberus but she doesn't really care about Shepard either. Tali and Garrus are actually friends of Shepard, so you know they support you, but Jack is way too unpredictable.

Agreed with the previous posts, someone who hates Cerberus is a valuable teammate for a Paragon Shep. Plus, her biotic potential is amazing. You picked her up before getting any info on Samara (who, with her strange code, is arguably almost as untrustworthy), so at that time your biotic options were... Miranda and Jacob. Both less talented than Jack in that aspect, both working for Cerberus. Jack was definitely an asset Shepard needed.

EDIT: Think of Jack like a Krogan. You can never really trust them, but what's the point of turning this big, angry mass of fight away when you can direct it towards your enemy instead?

I don't really see the point of Jacob. You don't like Jack? Don't talk to her, don't do her loyalty mission. You should be fine.

Plus after the loyalty mission you can give her some proper clothes.

Exactly. Plus having the most powerful human biotic on your team has it's benefits...

A lot of the characters don't affect the story other than having powerful allies on your team for the final mission. Pretty much everyone except Miranda and Mordin have anything to do with the story. Miranda is with the illusive man, and Mordin provides the swarm repellant armor. Everyone else is just an extra soldier.

She supported me the second I gave her the files she asked for without hesitation. She appreciated that I didn't bullsh*t her either. Even without 'relationshiping' her she never gave me a second of doubt she'd have my back on the mission.

Sure there was always a risk of what she'd do after the mission. Until I stuck it to Cerberus at the end. She loved that. Nah there's no worries with Jack.

Unless you're sleeping with the Cheerleader. Image IPB

Mental stability is a requirement for my crew. I wish I didn't have to take her.

Most of the teammates are just fodder.

Usefull team-members:

Mordin - Scientific genius

Miranda - 2nd in command, high up in the cerberus chain

Tali - a trustworthy friend

Garrus - Same as Tali

Grunt: He'll die/fight/kill for you. You are his Battlemaster. I also have a feeling Grunt's rise will be in ME3. I'm guessing Wrex will die (to save Shepard) and Grunt will take Wrex' place as the Krogan leader.

Legion; It never hurts to have the backup of a few hundred million Geth. He admires you and through him the Geth admire you.

Worthless:

Jack - psyco nutjob

Jacob - a red shirt extra

Zaeed - No place for a merc

Morith - same as jack

Thane - another red shirt.

Indifferent:

Samara - If you're a Paragon Shepard she'll be one of you most loyal team-members. If you are Renegade - She'll kill you.

I thought Bioware said they she would be an optional team member (I could be wrong). Now, they turn around and make her required? It just seems puzzling to me. By the way I am romancing Miranda by the way so I am probably just on edge lol.Image IPB

Tali, Garrus, and Grunt have nothing to do with the story. So what if your Grunts "battlemaster" or you like Tali and Garrus. They have nothing to do with the story. Like I said in my last post. The only teammates that affect the story are Miranda and Mordin. Everyone else is just an extra gun.

I've stated this in another thread, but I really wish they'd have randomized the Dossiers. I mean the only character you absolutely need story wise before horizon is Mordin, then due to proximity Tali would almost always have to go after horizon but all of the other characters you could totally switch up their order.

Unless you are playing on an Xbox 360 of course. Disc swapping would be a serious issue.

Ya it has to do with swapping discs. Recruiting Jack, Mordin, Garrus, and Grunt are on disc one. Everyone else's recruitment mission is on disc two.
