Warp and Reave are my personal best friends when I'm low on ammo. When those skills are not available (depending on squad combination or your own class), and there's nothing to AI Hack, there's almost always some form of CC from squad members, like Cryo Blast, Battle Drone, Shockwave, Pull + Throw, Slam, etc., that you can use for emergency situations. Many of these do little to no damage at high difficulties, but they work well to add precious moments for recovery, cooldowns, and positioning. And even if you do have more powerful skills on hand, they will do little to get you out of trouble if you end up getting flanked by multiple mobs and/or run out of ammo. I've read a number of varying tips and tricks, but I find that crowd control tactics are often overlooked.

Pull Field and Heavy Shockwave... It's a thing of beauty.

I can understand your point about what works and what doesn't, but I really wouldn't pass up at least Warp or AP ammo for an Infiltrator.  That doesn't apply to you of course since you enjoy Cryo so much, but maybe later if you're switching it to group you might use Warp/AP on yourself.

While I'm not sold on Cryo myself yet, your videos are really entertaining and you make awesome use out of the cloak for actually moving around, not just using it for headshots.  I do that too, but not to such a degree and mostly just use it for line of sight issues killing something big or stealthing to the end of a mission when triggers allow it.

You know me, love that Cryo.  Essentially, Disrupter does the same thing to Synthetics, although I don't think the duration is as long, and it helps vs. shields.  Great ammo powers for single target enemy lockdown.  Can easily see why they give it to the Infiltrator.

I honestly don't know about a stopwatch feature.  You can D/L a free version of Fraps where you can see all the features and record up to 30s of video.

For all you who have ammo problems and play a little too defensive, watch the CQC Infiltrator - Horizon video (link in my sig) and pay attention to how and where I move.

Example:  1rst three fights in that video, I move to my preffered position and (to quote Kirrahe) hold the line.  Looks like I'm randomly switching targets a couple times, but I'm just making sure to hold the line.  Don't let them flank.  Then I push forward and capture more ground.....  and hold the line.  Push forward, hold line.  Flank, don't get flanked.

In the last fight (the one with Harbinger/Collector General), I take care of any enemies that push forward or flank first, then I start to flank and gain control of the map, pushing the 3 Collectors into a small area in the middle.  When 3 more Collectors arrive, I flank, surround, and eliminate.  Keep them together and where I want them.

In long maps, push forward, hold the line.  In wide maps, flank and surround to gain control of the map.  I promise you'll NEVER run out of ammo.

Just recruited Garrus, Jack, Grunt and did the Horizon mission. It got a lot easier I think my problem was not putting a point into incinerate to deal with regenerating enemies. I thought Horizon would be difficult but I only ended up dieing about twice. The game is alot of fun on Insanity it actually feels like the missions are of great importance.

It's probably a long way off, but tell me how you do as an Infiltrator in the last room of the Derelict Reaper. I recently finished that off with a Sentinel and it was ridiculous on insanity. I had to bait all the husks and rely on Tech Shield's explosive stun just to keep my squad alive. Yeah, it was actually just simpler to let them die and take care of the husks myself, but... eh, you know how it is :P

I can't quite imagine what it would be like with an Infiltrator. I haven't gotten mine that far yet - on any difficulty. (I could just go and read up on more class tactics, but I like getting them from different viewpoints.)

So I just did Mordin's recruitment mission and it was really difficult. I was using GSB at the time but switched to Warp Ammo after I recruited him but overall that mission was pretty hard. The freaking Vorcha regenerated too fast and when I ran out of sniper ammo I just basically had to wait out the fight and hope my teammates finished them off.

Does the game get easier as I progress or is this what I should expect throughout the game? Mainly the issues I was having involved the enemy regeneration and running out of ammo.

You should never be running out of ammo on this mission and if you do it means you are not hitting headshots or you are missing too much. Tungsten Rounds work better than Warp Ammo since basically everything on this mission has armour (only the blue sun guys have shields and they are easy).

And yes the game does get easier assuming you are playing NG+. All enemies start fully upgraded so the first few areas are probably the hardest in the game (Freedom's Progress and Mordin's Recruitment). When you get Mordin you can bag some upgrades which eases the pain. By the end of the game and once you have picked up all the upgrades, it turns into a shooting gallery again I guess.

Anyway, heres how you do all the fights using sniper only. Insanity NG+ with no upgrades. Bear with me whilst I upload them but heres the first vid:

Tips:

1) Try to aim when you are hiding behind cover/reloading. The white reticle helps with this if you reload. This means you can quickly scope, shoot and unscope for the kill. No unnecessary mouse movement and no window where you are exposed for more than 1 second. If the target is really far away you might need to make a little adjustment but you'll never run out of time dilation and you won't get hit very often if you keep your scope time to a minimum.

2) The flamethrower guys can be a godsend if you find one in the right place. You can shoot the tanks on their back which will explode and kill any Vorcha that are nearby.

3) Warp and Pull can be used on armoured targets to stun them. This is really useful for the annoying 'duckers' that like to hide and slow you down. Wait for them to pop up, Pull them and when they get stunned its an easy headshot. Pull is great for this because it has a really short cooldown.

Any mission that you have to fight Collectors will convince you to use Warp ammo or AP. It is twice as easy this way than with any other bonus skill. Reave is nice but when they are flanking you while Harbinger is approaching, killing them fast is all that matters.

Thanks for the tips but I already finished the Omega missions haha.

And the reason I was running out of ammo was because I was being too cautious and not moving ahead if there were any enemies ahead. Using Mordin as my Incinerate guy and Miranda as the Warp user I've been having a pretty easy time now. Even the Scions in Horizon weren't difficult at all (just took awhile ). I'm really having no problems at all anymore but I guess the vids can be helpful to other players having trouble.

Oh ok. :) Scions are kind of easy for an Infiltrator because you can instantly lose aggro and your main weapon does huge damage versus armour. Plus in some situations you don't even need a lock on a Scion to Incinerate them to death which turns out to be the safest way to go when its possible. On the collector base for instance, theres 2x Scions on the hexagon bit and its possible to hide behind cover out of their 'aggro' range so they do nothing but stand still. All you need to do is scope them, target them and then unscope. Dont move the mouse. Now just spam incinerate over and over. You won't have a lock but you will hit them and kill them without any danger to yourself.

Husks are dumb. Very, very dumb.
Just run to one end of the room, equip Submaching Gun, fire on husks and use Incenerate to strip their armor.  Bring squadmates with Pull, Slam, Concussive shot, Throw or Cryoblast. Once you've stripped the armor off a husk, target it with one of those squad abilities to insta kill it.
Then just run from one side of the room to the other, endlessly kiting the husks as you mow them down.

I took a different approach to Husks on my infiltrator.
I run around, herding them together then spam incinerates to kill 4-5 at a time

The Collector Ship was surprisingly easy. Basically after Omega the game has been relatively easy. At the end of the mission I just sprinted past the Husks because I didn't feel like killing all of them hah.

Just beat it today. I got Incinerate Blast to control Husks. The game was relatively easy from the end of Omega to the end of the game. I did have some trouble on Tali's Loyalty Mission which was surprising. I think the enemies scaled or something because it was one of the last missions I did. Very fun I don't know if I'm going to do another Insanity run right away. I was thinking about going back to ME1 to get all the achievements but ME2 is just too good lol.
