I think everyone in the game did a great job with the Voice Acting... even the guy who was Harbinger . but Tali, Mordin, Garrus, and Miranda stood out to me the most to me. I really Like Thane and Samara too.

Oh, I wanted to add all of the Volus characters. I've yet to come across one who hasn't either cracked me up or made me believe they were sneaky merchants, uptight customers, etc.

I honestly think there's one guy who voices ALL the Volus.

The standout for Mass Effect 2 was Mordin, for me at least.

Though I liked how Brandon Keneer and Liz Sroka were acting their asses off for their respective loyalty missions. Adam Baldwin is always a plus, Martin Sheen never disappoints, and D.C Douglas sounded great as Legion.

I would have to give Mark Meer the "Most Improved" award. I liked his VO work in ME1, but it sounded...flat, for lack of a better word, during moments when he needed to be tender or anything but bad*ssed. For reference, see the "I remember me" assignment (colonist background assignment). In ME2, Meer is still much better at the tougher, rougher lines, but he has waaaaay improved on the softer moments. The romance with Tali is a supreme example of this. Honestly, with as much as Meer improved in ME2, I have to say that I prefer his VO of Shepard over Jennifer Hale's VO (taking absolutely nothing away from Hale, this is simply an endorsement of Meer's work).

Besides that, Tali's VA was insanely good, Mordin was a crackup the whole time, Seth Green as Joker made the game, Miranda was fully believable, Jacob was...ok, but I can't say anything bad about the VA...hell, even EDI's VA was good. This has got to be the single finest example of voice acting work in the entire history of the gaming industry (personal opinion, no flames please).

The only real letdown, in my opinion, and it's a minor letdown at worst, is Aria's performance. The whole "Don't f*ck with Aria" just sounded too forced. The rest of her VA is ok, but that one line is kinda her signature line, and I think it just didn't quite come out as good as it could have. *shrug*

Other than that, I think that ME2 set an entirely new standard for VA work in video games. May the trend continue.

"A GRUDGE!? Vido turned my men against me. He paid six of them to restrain me while he held a gun to my head and pulled the trigger. For twenty years I saw that bastard every time I closed my eyes, every time I sighted down on a target, every time I heard a gunshot. Don't you call that a goddamn GRUDGE." --and-- "A stubborn enough person can survive just about anything--Rage is a hell of an anesthetic."

Those two lines delivered by Zaeed totally sold me. This game's voice work is unbelievable, and it's impossible for me to narrow it down to one person, but I know that I never once had a problem with Zaeed and never once thought he had any signs of a bad or cliche character. He's definitely one of my favorite squad members to bring along anywhere just to hear his opinions and one-liners.

For other major characters, I think Garrus, EDI, TIM, Samara, and Thane were my favorites. Joker also--I was totally sold with Joker when he was mocking his decision to remove the restrictions from EDI, "This is all Joker's fault, what a tool he was! Now I have to spend all day computing pi because he plugged in the Overlord!" Too funny in such a crisis, since those lines are in such sharp contrast to how surprisingly well Seth Green delivered the serious lines, too.

For minor characters, I'd say Engineer Donnelly, Kal'Reegar, all of the quarian Admirals (especially Admiral Loghain and Admiral Morrigan!), and Urdnot Wrex were my favorites.

Now that I've typed what I've typed so far, I feel like I'm not giving enough credit to the amazing voice work of the other characters in the game, because I know that my opinions might change if this topic is brought up again based on what's fresh on my mind. There's just so much golden dialogue in this game it's impossible for me to positively say, "this is my favorite, this is the best."

Liz Sroka and Michael Beattie steal the show. All others are amazing with special props to Shohreh Aghdashloo, Martin Sheen, Tricia Helfer, Seth Green and whoever did the voice of Veetor.

Liz Stroka, Seth Green if I have to name favorites. And I still love Jennifer Hale's voice, and the way she plays (and tried male shep but still flat and lifeless. After I got out of the cerberus base at the beginning I could screem on him for a little tone change >_<).

Conrad was great as well.

"You taught me what it meant to be truly extreme... I learned that lesson well."

The way the actor delivers the line is side-splitting.

"I'm a man on the edge!"

But yeah, Liz Sroka's acting had to carry the weight without any help from the facial animations.  She had a tough job and totally pulled it off.

The entire cast. Seriously, several minor VA in the first ME aside, they all did an outstanding job. I have a few favorites, but there's an overall exceptionally high quality. I find even the minor cast members in ME2 very strong and doing a great job.

Robin Sachs as Zaeed was extremely good from the point of view of an actual British person. His delivery was spot on almost all the time. After his 'That ones gonna bite you in the arse someday' line on Korlus he was in my squad permanently.

Honourable mention goes to whoever played the 'Quarian Woman' who was talking to the Turian on Illium. Her lines were done in such a brilliantly over the top way, it makes me laugh everytime I hear them.

Agreed, a lot of great voice acting and really not a weak performance among the bunch of companions but Zaeed was just tremendous.  The voice fit the look of the character perfectly.  I think he had perhaps the best face of anyone as well.

I thought all the VA was terrible, awful, miserable, they were all hacks with no talent and didn’t make me feel for any of the characters! *sarcasm off*

I felt like a lot of the posters that all the VA from ME1 I heard had really improved in ME2, they had ‘found’ their character’s personalities and those that were new to ME fell into the rolls of those new characters very well especially during Zaeed loyalty mission (The ‘grudge’ lines as many people have said were some of the best lines). I’m a big RPG fan (Both PnP and Computer) and I think Bioware makes their NPCs some of the best, most memorable, non cookie cutter characters out there.  Bioware keeps raising the bar for everyone else in terms of story and VA.
