I finished an Insanity Engineer and I am going to start another but with a different playstyle. I was wondering which you guys would think would be more fun:

1) CQC Annihilation Engineer
Overload: 2
Incineration Blast: 4
Explosive Drone: 4
Deep Cryo Blast: 4
AI Hacking: 1
Operative: 4
Warp Ammo [also considering GSB]: 3

Extra Weapon: [Eviscerator] Shotgun

Main focus would be the swift eradication of defenses and then some nice Cryo-Shotgun combos

or,

2.) Stage-Director Engineer
Overload: 1
Incineration: 0
Attack Drone: 4
Full Cryo Blast: 4
AI Hacking: 4
Mechanic: 4
Dominate: 4

Extra Weapon: Sniper Rifle

Main focus would be on crowd control and enhanced support. Relying heavily on squadmates for lethality while controlling the stage himself and taking sniper pot-shots

I like the director engineer due to its uniqueness. I've thought about trying something like that my self.

My CQC insanegineer is possibly my favourite character. A very enjoyable ride. I loaded my squadmates with group ammo powers so used the bonus slot for either GSB 3 (when I was feeling cautious) or dominate 3 (when I wasn't). It was also the first time I started to find a use for Jacob, odd as that sounds.

Engineer with shotgun on Insanity sounds like an iffy prospect, but I could see it working on Normal or Veteran. The director build sounds much more doable, while still fun.

This is really a tough decision for me. I like the idea of a CQC Engineer. But I am leaning toward a Director Engineer I think. The only problem is I decided to do this run on the PC and I don't have any bonus powers for the PC (as I got it Monday) and the Director Engineer would be pretty gimped in the early game. Horizon would be a massacre.

It's an engineer with a shotgun...looks fine to me.
