Am I the only one?  Seriously, all I read is whining and complaining about an expansion the nobody has played.  An expansion to an INCREDIBLE game.  My thought process is as follows....

1- I loved Dragon Age, and KOTOR, and NWN, and Mass Effect, and Baldur's Gate.   This must mean Bioware makes good games.

2- I loved the expansions and the sequels(even the non-bioware ones)  So maybe Bioware knows what they are doing.

3- I have yet to be dissapointed with a Bioware game.  Are they perfect? No, but very close.

4- The fact that Bioware is still around making games must mean that other people also enjoyed their games.

All this taken into account, how.........I repeat, HOW,  can anyone think for a second that Bioware is going to drop the ball on this one? They do have a pretty darn good track record from what I've seen, and have yet to dissapoint.

To finish, Thank you Bioware.  I am looking forward to Awakening, have loved every game of yours that I've played, and think you guys are awesome!!

Somehow they got me hooked on DA:O all over again just by announcing an expansion. I'm excited about Awakening and hope its a long one (when I say long, I mean to do all of the side quests and collect codex entries).

I'm pissed; they still won't find out why 1.02 makes the game crash, and they're releasing an expansion. I can't level the character I want to use for it, and still it approaches.

Nice thread RustWarrior, I agree with your sentiments in the OP.

Yeah I am really looking forward to it as well, anything to feed my Dragon Age addiction!
Quite looking forward to see what the addition of the Orlesian Warden brings to the table too. :wizard:

Ah! The company deigns to respond in one of the few positive threads. How fascinating.

On the other hand, I too am looking forward to it. But with a certain...wariness, perhaps.

There's this old saying - You catch more files with honey than vinegar. Why one would catch files is a mystery, but it's an old saying for a reason.

I'm looking forward to Awakenings. Any opportunity to further explore the world, lore and advance my character is great. Even though I'll still be hip deep in FFXIII when it releases.

It's not that I'm not excited, I'm cautioustly optimistic. Unlike yourself, I thought that KotOR, NWN and Mass Effect were mostly mediocre. They had their moments, but they were too formulaic and lacked the depth that Dragon Age had.

BioWare are hardly infallible, of course they can drop the ball. My hat's off to the developers and writers that put this game together, you guys have provided me with more than a hundred hours of entertainment (a little bit of  frustration in the Deep Roads and on random encounters too, but we're cool), but things can fall apart. A lot of good franchises go downhill, some sooner than others. Why not this one?

This expansion pack might not be worth it - I think it probably will be, but I want to be sure I'm looking at this objectively so that I'm not spending money on something that I feel might be a cash grab. I'm not saying that the expansion pack will suck or anything (in fact, there are a few reasons to believe it could be very good) but there are still some legitimate concerns that haven't yet been answered by the developers.

However, that's been covered in a dozen threads already.

My only point is that we shouldn't fall into the mentality of "BioWare can do no wrong".

All I can say is that for 40 dollars, it had better not be the same amount of content-for-money that one got in Return to Ostagar. And I don't think it will be. Or let us say, I hope it shall not be.

LOL $5 per half hour, at $40 you get an 8 hour expansion...  If we truly do only get 8 hours after everything else, EA will have permanently lost my business.

Edit: It appears I'm whiny because I don't appreciate being ripped off, even if it is by the publishers of my favorite game.

I'm excited about Awakening, I just pre-ordered it the other day. I can't wait to play it, because I mostly want to find out what happens with the Architect.

I liked KotOR (a little more than I care to admit lol) and ME (less so, but still quite a bit). I've never played NWN or BG. I think Awakening will be good, despite what others are saying. But maybe I'm a little more sick of the rest of the games nowadays where story matters very little. It's nice having game not about WW2 or some kind of soldiers.... which I just realized that ME is about a soldier, but still lol.

But yes, very excited!

As I have said on several occasions, I am looking forward to Awakening more than any other game and will be purchasing it the day it comes out here in the UK.

Of course I'm looking forward to it! I've pre-ordered (and paid already) and really can't wait for it to come out. Bioware has made excellent games before, and I'm sure this expansion is top notch. All I hope that it won't get delayed..

And I'm looking forward to any other future expansions and of course, the DA2.
