It would be a Grey warden descision either way, killing him or letting him live. letting him live, you gain another body to toss at the Archdemon. Killing him, you remove a threat and obstacle to ending the Blight, because at that moment, you have no reason to know or believe he will not turn on you or ruin your chances. People have entire threads of the arguements, I'll not repeat them here.
But both choices, from a Grey Warden perspective, make sense. It comes down on who you play and how you play.
