That said. I am all for a survival/arena style repeatable combat area in this game. As it is right now they've got a very fun combat system but by the time you get to level 30 and have a "maxed" character there's almost no combat left for you to experience, it would be very fun to have a place to just enjoy the combat system with no strings attached.

Thats why Bioware gave us NG+ in ME1 and 2. I would love an Arena as well if it was done right like in Fable or Oblivion. Other than that I couldn't really care less.

for the love of all that is gaming NO !!!

this is a game where all the powers of development go into the single player... and that's a good thing.. don't want them wasting time on something half done that is being done by so many others... why is it that some people want every game to paly the same..?

"i wan't co-op and horde mode in all my games... even my racing games... and my puzzles!!! duuur..."

*sigh* leave the RPGs alone please -.-"

ME2 has horde mode.  There is a certain N7 mission involving a certain crashed freighter whereupon you get unlimited waves of mecha mooks and, while being relatively easy on Normal, is (appropiately) insane on Insanity.  At least, I assume they are unlimited.  I didn't stick around to find out :bandit:

Coward!!! ... just kidding :P.

Anyway ... I do see the value of multiplayer or coop in general. Heck played Halo mostly in Coop with a friend of mine and in general player shooters mainly for multiplayer aspects and seldom for the story/single player. However in general it does nothing for me in regards to most games I play. I never even played coop mode in Red Alert 3. Therefore, from my point of view, it is a feature they've wasted resources on that I won't use.

Adding coop or multiplayer to ME, for me at least, would be a waste of resources better spend on creating more and interesting side or main missions. In regards to ME later would, for me be a better investement of resources then a coop mode, regardless of if it would be combat heavy or not. As story, quests, atmospeher is  partially what I'm looking for in ME and why I'm interested in ME.

Because playing games with friends ruins the game for most people apparently.

I don't understand why Horde mode is synonymous with co-op/multiplayer

Truth is, horde mode would be a sad use of resources. i would rather have 1 BDTS mission than horde mode dlc.

Not only GoW had Horde, ODST had a very similar mode called "Firefight" and even ME1 had "Survival" in Pinnacle Station. Don't see why it wouldn't work in ME2.

damn good point, those mechs come forever. just fly to this planet and you have your horde mode.

they do come forever, i sat there fighting them for 20 minutes. so unless they stop spawning into the thousands, they are infinite. now people will complain that they aren't salarian or turians or vanguards or engineers. yada yada

The worry is that splitting resources like that will be bad for the single player experience, which is what we've all bought the game for.  (And you would be, there's no way around that.  They may get extra money, but they'll also have to shave money off the single player side.)

Does BioWare even make games that aren't RPG's?

Pretty ridiculous comment there.

I appreciate it if it could be implemented in a decent enough way, although I'm afraid some skills (such as Charge and Adrenaline Rush) won't be implementable. So everyone playing with his/her Shep is out of the question. Playing as any of the dirty dozen could work, though.

In a Bioware interview with a dev multiplayer was considered or could be a possible in current or future ME or other games in other words Bioware is interested in pursuing online gaming!. source I think it was that Spike TV video game show were I saw this.

Why would I be kidding? Is there something about me that screams "this dude has a working familiarity with Gears of War 1 and 2"? I'm not sure if I should feel flattered or a little insulted by that. :P

It's the real world, blackrhubarb 2.0, not everyone is going to have the same videogame experiences as you.

Sure he does.  Gears of War just is't part of it.  Did you miss the post of everything that he is currently playing?

Horde mode would work IMO if there was a pinnacle station like DLC, but instead of multiplayer, it was just you and your squad.

Honestly, there's enough combat in ME2 and I really enjoyed it. Personally, I would be happier if bioware spent their time on things like batarian squadmates , a presidium you can explore and hanar that actually speak to you.

Bottom line, the combat is ME2 is far, far greater than in ME1. IMO bioware just needs to focus on the universe and RPG elements more now, which were great, but could still be improved.

I wouldn't approve of a multiplayer component. BioWare made the game as a single-player experience. They've been in business long enough to assure me that they know what they're doing.

However, I wouldn't complain if something similar to a 'horde' was implemented in Hammerhead missions.

Say, during mineral mining (if that's still included).

Hook up the Hammerhead to the mineral, start mining, and defend against the local wild-life.

After playing BioShock 2, however, I know that if excersised too regularly, it could get boring and/or frustrating.

I'm a gamer and I have no interest in Mario Kart Wii, does that mean I noob fail for not having a wide range of knowledge? Some people work for a living and just because someone works in the gaming industry doesn't mean they have to know everything about it. I work in the health insurance industry but I couldn't tell you anything about disability insurance.

Seriously. Apples and oranges. FPS' and RPGs. If you want a mode, request it and describe it, don't treat developers like garbage because they don't know what you mean for an unrelated genre. Yeesh.
