I'm a Tali fan, but I don't want to see her face.

Other than satisfy your own curiosity, what would revealing Tali's face do for the character? She's never shown it to anyone (except Shepard if you pursue a romance with her) and even if she were to "link suits" with another Quarian, she wouldn't necessarily show that person either. As she says, they even keep their suits on around family. By keeping it from us, Bioware was showing just how intimate a moment it was for both characters. They didn't "cheat" us at all. Our Shepards get to fall in love with a fan favorite from ME1, while keeping that mystic about her.
You don't always have to see something for it to matter. I'd argue that because we didn't see her face, it makes her willingness to reveal herself to our Shepards even more meaningful and makes their relationship far more intimate.

Some of you who replied missed my point. Just because other people in the MEU know what a Quarian looks like doesn't mean we, the playing audience, should too. Keeping a character partially obscured or completely hidden from the audience is an old and enjoyable gag used by storytellers. Shows like Cheers, Fraiser & Home Improvement have used this to great effect in recent memory. Does it mean you'll automatically love Tali less? No; but the fact that you want to know so badly is a testament to how well Bioware is handling it.

I agree. It adds nothing to the plot, story, or enjoyment of the game. Plus if they do show it....most people will just complain that it wasn't what they thought it would be. There would be mass talimancer suicides as a result. The aftermath would be devastating.

OP - i agree. While sure, im curious to see what she looks like, Bioware shouldnt have to remove her mask, it would totally ruin the great mystique she has.
Has anybody seen the video's people have posted of the quarion "faces" under the masks that appear when the camera angle cuts away the visor? I know there mostly just there as placeholders for the eyes, but they really freaked me out. While I was interested in her face I can't help but picture that creepy, grinning face. Ruined it for me.

It should be optional. If people don't want to see her face or other quarians faces, then they should have the option to not see them. For those that do, don't deprive them of it.
We wouldn't be deprived of anything. Unless I'm misremembering, Bioware has never promised us we'd see Tali's face. The "show her face" campaign is something that has gained momentum amongst Tali fans, but seeing her face isn't a right we're being denied. It's an artistic choice to keep it concealed and I believe it's the right one.

i bet she wouldn't look really pretty since being in a suit your whole life isn't really good for your skin, you figured that didn't you?
You're assuming alien skin would react to a biosuit the same way human skin does and considering Tali has three fingers and two long toes...

I can understand BW not showing Tali's face since they might be concerned that many people have already projected their own ideal of a 'geeky alien girl' on to her, so would inevitably be disappointed.
I agree with this, the fact is, I can't see it turning out any other way if they did a reveal.
Course they'll still not be liked by the obvious ardent Tali fans that do want to see her face. But they could disappoint an equal amount by showing it and it not being how people imagined it would. Thus it is best to stay with the mystery and allow people to continue to have their own thoughts on what they look like.

This. I'm curious as hell, but I realize the revelation might ruin everything. It's like with horror movies, they are scary as long as they don't show the monster.SurfaceBeneath wrote...
I want to see Tali's face, but at the same time I think it's best if Bioware doesn't show it or any Quarian's face.

There's one problem. This is the internet. The moment they show Tali's face to just one guy in the world, it'll be on every Mass Effect related site and forum. People who don't want to see her face wouldn't be able to avoid it for long. Making it optional doesn't really help if you don't want to see it.Akinra wrote...
Me personally I would like to see her face. But I can understand people saying why they don't There was what I thought was a good suggestion above by challenger18; make it optional somehow. If you want to see you can, if you don't you don't have to.

Guys it like if at the end of Halo 3 we see the chiefs face, it would totally break the character.
Samus Aran is a lot better than Chief, and I've known what she looks like since the 80s! I think in Metroid it made me like the character more to get rewarded with knowing what she looked like.
Chief was also a very flat character to me, so I didn't really care, he felt like a robot, so I pretended it was just circuits underneath.

The only thing that annoyed me about not seeing her face is the fact that shepard did see her face. If he never saw her face I wouldn't have cared that much its just as you 'are' shepard you feel like you should know what he knows and see what he sees, but now he knows what tali looks like but the player doesn't so it sort of breaks the feeling of 'being' shepard.
Odd, never got the feeling of 'being' Shepard mainly due to the 3rd-person perspective - you spend the majority of the game looking at Shepard. (Which is why I generally make female Shepards - have made one male Shepard mainly for exploring the LI aspect of the game, for what it's worth).
Sorry, slight divergence OT there.

If Bioware show her face and it's to my liking, I will be extra happy.
If Bioware show her face and I dislike it, my happiness will be marred.
If Bioware never show her face, I will remain adequately happy.
Revealing it is a gamble, and it's up to the devs to decide if it's worth it.
