I want to change the eyecolour of my singleplayer charakter. I'm afraid, but the descriptions and tutorials are not very helpfull to me. I'm too stupid, I think. Can someone explain the method step by step please?

Unfortunately I don't know how to edit an existing morph in an existing save, all we're doing is remaking an entirely new morph and copying it to your main save or telling the save to use the new morph. I would love to find out how to extract the morph from a save too...
@Tankenminnet yes it is ppossible to find out spoilers by messing around in the toolset, I was looking through Alistair's files and I had to quickly shut the file down...
So yeah just looking won't break the game just don't hit save or anything.

I did this to change the skin tone of one of my characters without having to make a completely new face with the morph editor.

You don't have to get complicated and use a hex editor to change things like skin tone, eye color, hair, etc. Just extract the morph then open that extracted morph in the toolset. Use Beerfish,s XLS file to know what skin tone is what, what hair is what, etc. The tree structure doesn't explicitly say a variable is Hair or whatnot but using the XLS file you can figure out what is what because of the naming conventions.
You can really change anything with the morph this way but since it's not in the morph editor your not going to be able to see what you're changing. Beerfish's XLS file has pics though so at least you know what eye color, hair, etc goes with what variable.
If someone has figured out how to open an existing morph in the actual editor I'd like to know as well.

Go to the Tree SaveGame_PlayerChar_Char / SaveGame_Creature_Stats / SaveGame_StatList
Find SaveGame_StatProperty_Index 1 through 8 and change them to your base stats as you would like (Str, Dex, Will, Magic, Cunning, Con, Health, Stamina)
Now find SaveGame_StatProperty_Index 34, 35, 36, 38 (Attrib, Skill, Talent, Specialization) and set them to however many points you want to distrib
Next go to the SaveGame_SpellList, SaveGame_TalentList and SaveGame_SkillList. Delete items from the tree that you want to reset. Be VERY careful not to remove core abilities and make sure you get an entire tree since I don't know what will happen if you remove something like Stealth 1 and leave Stealth 2. You can figure out the various talents by checking the files temp_crafting.xls, guitypes.xls, AL*.xls and recipe.xls
You can also change items like Currentclass but I would be very careful mucking with those settings. You can find a full list in the properties.xls file.
That should be a start anyway.

Unfortunately I don't know where the .mrh files for NPC's are, if they exist at all which I doubt since if I'm understanding the file structure correctly they are not needed in the final product.
I don't know if it's possible to convert a .mor file to a .mrh file either. Simple (though tedious) copy/pasting definitely won't work.

for the life of me I can't figure out what controls the "stubble" appearance (not beards, but stubble, like what my avatar has).

Again every item property has an ID but you can find (most that is, reduced fatigue is 90002 with a power value of -1%) at
\\\\dragon age origins\\\\tools\\\\Source\\\\2DA/itemprps.xls
The ID is obviously the first number and Float0 is the power value, i.e. for Increased Combat Stamina Regeneration if you give it a power value of 4 in-combat stamina regeneration will increase by 1.
I used this method to modify the Warden Commander's Armor (Warden's Keep DLC) into something more suitable for my Arcane Warrior.

You don't have to get complicated and use a hex editor to change things like skin tone, eye color, hair, etc. Just extract the morph then open that extracted morph in the toolset.
The fellow was asking how to change the eye color of his *existing* face morph, not that of an npc. Hex editing is required since the toolset does not display player morph data.

I wasn't thinking since I replaced my character's head morph I have a .mor file I can open in the Toolset.
Your right. If you haven't overriden your character's head you'd have to edit the hex entries. Sorry.

Here's a question of recent discovery, Have any of you that have edited and imported your own faces made it to the fade and had any issues with the separate forms?

Hello could anyone tell me how to make my forum avatar the same as the "morphed" character in my save game.

It actually does update eventually, it takes time. You have to continue playing the game for awhile for it to take effect. At least from my personal experience anyway.

That way when people start making mods that extra hairstyles, eye colors, and such I can easily modify any existing chars if I want to use the mod with an existing game. Maybe a easier solution will come along but that's what I'm doing now.
And Raven I haven't encountered any bugs in my tinkering except if you change item properties of items you have equipped the changes don't take effect unless you requip the items.
