Then there's Thane and Samara having issues with their children. And then there's Garrus, Zaeed, and Legion with betrayl issues (legion/the true geth by the heretic geth).

Its not that they have a parent relationship problem. They may just do that to give the characters a more believable and comparable (words fail me at this moment. Im thinking of the word that describes a reader being able to connect with a character, just cant think of the word) to the player. Alot of people these days are having problems with getting along with, accepting the death of, or desiring to know thier parents. Someone may go "Hey, when I was younger, my Father and I got into a dispute that was never settled, and I havent talked to him in years, I now feel a connectiong with Garrus." or "I remember when I found out that my Mom was just raising me so she can steal my body in order to stay young and beeautiful, perserving her life at the expense of mine. Morrigahn reminds me of myself". This is all theory and speculation of course.
Either way, consider your mind officially blown.

Garrus having a falling out with his father is not really a "daddy issue" because he doesn't seem to be aversly affected by the disagreement. Ashley's dad being dead is not a daddy issue, and neither is Liara not knowing who her father is. the def is "
The term daddy issues is an informal slang expression from popular psychology that refers to any of a number of difficulties stemming from an unsatisfactory father-daughter relationship."
Leliana, Garrus, Ashley and Liara do not have this because they loved their fathers, except for Liara, who doesn't have it because she never knew her father.
