ok I wanted to ask this, how many Templar's would you get at the final battle. with the mager's you get 12 and they die pretty fast. but there is away to get Wynne and still have the Templar's join. don't lisen to Cullen and agree with Wynne, kill Ultra and save Irving. which can lead you to : quote: If you spare even one blood mager's, we may regret it later. which Irving accepts the response ability for what happens at the circle of magi and dies in the process. you wont see it but that's how I figure then Wynne joins.
Templars Instead of Mages?

My first time in the tower I did it by accident. I didn't know how to use the Litany and kept misfiring. Once all the mages were turned there was no one left to be in the Circle so I got the templars by accident. I didn't even realize what had happened till I encountered Connor and didn't have the option of using the Circle to save him.
Since you didn't have the option to save him (through no fault or decision of your own) what did you do? Kill Connor or allow Jowan to perform the ritual? I ask because I want to know if Allistair is still a whiny little b!tch afterwards. For a guy who never steps up to make a decision he sure has lots of after-the-fact opinions. I keep looking for the "Hey you're the one who seems content to let me lead so why don't you just enjoy a cup of STFU and let me do that!" dialog, but it never appears.
If you allow Jowan to perform the ritual Ali is very unhappy with you (as much because of the Blood Magic as because Isolde died it seemed to me). Even with a successful Persuade roll I took a -10 Approval hit. Had to give him some tacky amulet to make up for it.

How many you get and how fast they die will depend (in-part) on how much you upgrade them before the final battle starts.

I ran into the same issue.
During the Uldred fight, I'm not sure whether I used the Litany or not (I did nothing specific, my PC is a mage and when Wynne told me to use the Lithany I even opened the circular menu but didn't find it).
Anyway, I told Cullen I was going to try to save the mages, I didn't manage as apparently Irving was dead (he didn't show up) so I got the Templars' help finally.
But I'm sure that during the dialogue with Gregoir I wasn't all "blood mages die!".
I just recognized that there might be blood mages and abomination and agreed to save the day at the tower,

Before the big fight, tell the guy who is through the barrier either you'll kill all the mages OR you have to think about it. If you say you have to think about it, you get both options when you talk to Gregoir later.
