On Insanity:

Shockwave's knock down does not work on shielded/armored/barriered enemies.
Throw does not work on shielded/armored/barriered enemies.
Pull does not work on shielded/armored/barriered enemies.
Singularity will not throw shielded/armored/barriere in the air, but it WILL hold them in place, and in some cases cause them to stop firing, and force them to stand up.
Warp does excellent barrier and armor damage. Can be used to detonate enemies that get sucked into the air by Singularity once all their defenses are down.
Reave does mostly the same damage as Warp, but drains health when enemies are defenseless, and does not detonate other biotic effects.
Slam does not work on shielded/armored/barriered enemies.

Your best bet is to pump Singularity and Warp, then get something to either balance out your damage (Energy Drain to kill shields), or something to help your squad (AP/Warp Ammo). You could get Barrier, as it takes from all the +biotic upgrades; but I don't find myself using it as much more than a quick refill on my shields.

Actually, Throw works on all enemies. No joke. Go out there and test it out!

Yah pull only works on enemys who are down to health. Apparently the devs decided that armor cripples telekinetic powers... x_x

Yeah I still don't get that. I can appreciate shields/barriers interfering with biotic powers, but armour?

Does it require a certain level of point put into it?

I tried it when I first played Sentinel, and it never seemed to work, so I never even bothered with it on my Adept.

You're very right but using throw on a shielded enemy just dents the shields and stuns them for half a second, not quite worth the cooldown.

To answer the OP's question, it all depends on how far you've progressed and how many upgrades you've grabbed. Pull is key to setting up most of your biotic attacks. Once you get all of the cooldown reductions one point in pull will be enough to set up a throw or warp explosion. Warp is worth maxing out as its the best way to dispose of enemies in closed rooms and it does wonders against defenses (armor/barriers). Throw once evolved into heavy throw and curved properly is one of the better ways to dispose of enemies quickly, on a short cooldown.

Singularity I've managed fine with at rank 2, it's best use is crowd control. Against a shielded enemy it'll trigger a slight knockback, similar to Harbringer's attacks that knock you out of cover, allowing you to keep tougher enemies or hordes of husks under control until you can strip them. I find it situational and your milage may vary.

Shockwave is a bit iffy. It's something of an area throw, but it never really lives up to the cost of its cooldown, as without any enviromental hazards around the enemies just get bounced around for awhile. It has its uses but its probably more situational than singularity.

The passive skill is a must to max out after Horizon, giving you a large cooldown reduction along with all of the usual goodies.

Your bonus power is really up for grabs, most everything you need done you can do yourself, though I've seen Average Gatsby favor siphon energy at one time and I've found it quite useful myself.

Please keep in mind that your milage will vary from mission to mission. There's just some places where one ability or another really doesn't shine that well.

The biotic upgrades and skill rank are important. Lower levels of Throw don't do much against enemies that have defenses. If you have a level 1 Throw, don't bother. It'll still do the stun and a little bit of damage, but it's not worth the cooldown unless you're really that desperate. Still, it's nice for distracting a krogan while you sprint away.

A Heavy Throw with biotic upgrades will do significant damage to biotic Barriers - it's actually competitive with Heavy Warp because Warp has double the cool down. If the enemy has less than half Barriers left, better to use Throw if you have it evolved to Heavy. Even Throw Field does discernable damage to Biotic Barriers. Plus the stagger effect, of course.

Sarah Aran:

Going by the estimated cool down timer, I estimated the stagger effect to be a little more than half a second. Definitely enough to consider using it to stun enemies out of fire animations if there are a bunch of them and you have Throw Field.
