1.The Butler: Resurrection, Introduces the main dude, Erevis Cale! Start with this one. (This is also part of a 7 book series, the other 6 books are other characters you might want to read if you have time)
2. Shadow's Witness, Tells of how Erevis becomes a Priest of the shadowlord, Mask. And later on becomes the "Chosen of Mask" (this has 2 others books that have different characters, read if you have time, they all tie together in the end series)
3. Now we go to the Erevis Cale Trilogy.. (reading the earlier books helps, all 10 of em)
-Twilight Falling
-Dawn of Night
-Midnights Mask
4. Last is the Twilight War Saga (reading the earlier books helps, all 10 of em)
-Shadowbred
-Shadowstorm
-Shadowrealm
Trust me, you wont be disappointed. He has knife fights on back alleys with his GOD ffs! Only other guy i can see doing that would be Elminster!...but he doesnt count XD

I had no idea he left Wizards though. Do you have any idea why? I guess he finally realized they were a dead end publisher; being shared world fiction and all. Not that I have a problem with shared world fiction. They just tend to be taken less seriously by self proclaimed fantasy literati.
If you want to see more of Drizzt in a video game, pick up Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and its sequel. You actually get to play as him after clearing the games once with a standard character. Also look into Demon Stone. You get to play Drizzt for one level.

Agreed on Paul S. Kemp. He was one of the better writers WotC had over the last few years. He managed to make a 4e transition seem considerably less lame that actually was. I did *not* like how WotC forced a bad retcon on Mask and Shar, but Kemp managed to spin it into a decent yarn.

Played both, but if you want Drizzt content you are better off going with Demon Stone. In BG: DA i never felt like Drizzt no matter how much i played as him.

The weird thing about BG:DA Drizzt are his abilities. He has too many magical attacks for a fighter/ranger type. I remember casting globes of ice and repulsion with him and feeling a bit silly. I did like how they rendered him in those games though. I also liked that they used the same voice actor from the Baldur's Gate RPGs for his lines in Dark Alliance. It was a nice bit of continuity. Although he still looked and played better in Demon Stone, yes.
Yes! and it was just odd! One of the only supernatural abilities that would have made sense would have been summoning Guenwyvar (dammit, how do you spell the panthers name again?), and other characters had summoning spells so why the hell couldnt he? Instead he is throwing balls of ice? Why didnt they just give him a ranged weapon to switch to?

I can only assume he was thrown in as a bonus at the last minute. What's annoying is they didn't tweak him much in the second game either. Bleh. :/ I wonder if Artemis Entreri was done any justice? I never tried him in DA2.

I dont remember if DA 1 had it but in DA 2 you could equip multiple different weapons (melee set, ranged set, spear) and switch between them, a small crossbow with a stun effect would (as unremovable as the blades) would have been great.
Entreri felt a hell of a lot more like Entreri than Drizzt felt like Drizzt. He had mostly stealth based moves. Though he too had the strange ability to hurl a globe of pain at the enemy (though at least they tried to justify it by saying it was a ball of ash from his sword.)
It definately felt wrong when me and my brother were playing in co-operative mode and i was Drizzt and he was Entreri.

It sounds like he had serious creative differences with them for this series. I guess Kemp decided to leave rather than stay and butcher his ideas for the sake of perceived profitability. That leaves Erik Scott de Bie as the last remaining WotC author I can stand. I'm not holding my breath on a sequel to Depths of Madness, however. Now that Paizo's announced a book line for Pathfinder with Elaine Cunningham on board... and Kemp is gone, *and* my loathing of 4e Forgotten Realms hasn't waned... there's no reason to read anything WotC publishes now. Gah.
The worst part is there were so many plot threads left unresolved by Shadowrealm.
