really? damn i kept running in there to do upgrades, finding that i've run through the wrong door--SIGH- YET AGAIN!!! and bee-lining for mordins room.

i wish i had good navigational skills between my left and right. i also wish they put garrus in that room so i wouldn't have to go so far, and jacob could stay allllll-the-wayyyyyyy on the otherside of the ship :innocent:

Like I said, the first time I played the game I actually talked to him until I got sick of it. Want to hear something funny. 

At one point in the conversation he talks about how he and Miranda use to be an item, but he was not a good enough man for her.  Some how though, he is good enough for Shepard, he has to be the worst romance option in video game history.

Your better off just not talking to Jacob at all as femShep, you will have a more enjoyable game.  No forced flirting and he is such a bland character your not missing anything avoiding an attempt at friendship.

Hah, yeah I remember him saying that when I talked to him the first few times... these days I just ignore Jacob too... nothing interesting to say and I cringe each time he says "We live, we go loud and spill some drinks on the Citadel!". Well, nice to know Shepard is lesser than Miranda.

Also let him go into the vents like he volunteered to do.  Won't have to worry about him in ME3.

I was a little shocked when I started talking to Jacob with femshep. Hale has a sexy voice. Its fun watching Jacob squirm though. hahaha

Jacob's romance comes off as cheesy porn dialogue.  The worst is the "you're lucky you're so damned you" part.

If it didn't sound flirty then the people who were on a romance path who have to chose that "I want to talk about you" option would complain. After you get over that one comment; there is no flirting in the conversation. I did a play through with a female character and never noticed the talks were anything but professional after I selected the non-romance path. Not talking to Jacob is a loss for those who don't speak to him as far as I am concerned.

Jacob's not a bad sort, although Joker's description of Garrus (with the pole up his... whatever turians have) was more apt for Mr. Taylor. Once you get past the cheesy talk-about-you thing, the rest of the dialogue isn't bad (as long as you steer well clear of the obviously pathetic conversation options). You wind up with a promise to celebrate and get sloshed on the Citadel once all this is over. I thought, FINALLY! A realistic response to all this save-the-galaxy madness.



But I do hate the tone of the "I want to chat" thing. Funny thing is, it sounds almost as creepy when a male Shepard says it. Maybe Shep's just trying to hide his/her reaction to Jacob's terrifying teeth.

I have to agree and its been said many times before, that the male shepard does not feel like he is romancing the NPCs as much as trying to get a one night stand...

Which is actually taken to a logical conclusion with Jack....

Luckily, Mark Meer's male shepard voice over doesn't come off like he's trying to jump Jacob when you talk to him so it's safe to talk to him as male Shepard. So he got that right at least (though I think he does a better renegade than Jennifer Hale).

Did you mean Miranda? I chose the response because, well, "Love?" seems like an innocuous choice, and it's in the paragon (read: non-jerk) part of the dialogue wheel. It was especially awkward with my little sister in the room.
