to be honest, the writing with the interactions with Jacob made me feel... Well it made me feel sort of like the writes themselves were " forcing" Shep onto Jacob. When you would think " npc romance option, they come onto the character."

Yet here is Jacob, a nice solider , Doing his job, and the PC has gone "deprived cougar let out of her cage on him. "

I really did not like that feeling, and as a result have to force myself to talk to him to advance anything.

for real. that is TOTALLY the problem, they F'ed the PC. i would waaaay less cared if jacob was "all over" Shep. I"M NOT PLAYING JACOB!

you could simply tell him to "back off", "slow down", "get lost", whatever. but the way they handled it where Shepard is the one being all "I WANT YOU NOW BIG BOY" is sooooo gross. i can't handle it. honestly.

honestly, it's my single biggest issue with ME2 without a doubt.  And i never would've guessed my "biggest issue" with a bioware game would be dialogue/story related. sad. just sad.........and.........Posted Image

North American Union.

Anyway, this is a Jacob thread but we should definitely stop talking about Jacob. No one even wants to talk to him.

I was just going off what I read about Watson;

two things - its spectacular tides brought on by a large moon and the
bureaucratic snafu over which Earth
nations got to settle there first. Watson is a garden world first

NAU is canon to the game, it seems.

Most agree completely,  forcing behavior in an optional romance that the player may not wish to participate in is a bit no no for any western RPG.

NAU term also shows up as one of the Daily News for the Cerberus network. Involving the Superbowl, the NAU won because we had a Krogan Quaterback.

Bioware totally dropped the ball on this one. My Femshep feels like a prostitute instead of Commander Shepard, she sounds as if she's trying to hit on everybody. Now I avoid Jacob whenever possible and just talk to him to pick up his loyalty mission.

With Miranda you have, don't be nice, be nice but not charm her, be nice and charming but back off, romance her like good guy (oddly enough still doing Bond comments), or Romance her 100% like Bond.

Jacob... you have a choice between tramp and ****. Like WTH?!

Don't even get me started about ME1 LI. How you have so little input on how you deal with them. Then the writers start doing interviews and stating people who go with a ME2 LI are cheating, getting on some moral high horse when they give us so little options.

I love you Bioware, usually you do a good job, but it seems like they took a collective blow to the head and are now acting like hormone induced 16 year old boys and girls. Still good writers and fine game designers but pulling stuff a 16 year old would though. I only hope the realise this before they start writing ME3. They seem to be riding a high from their success.....

Jacob: Hey Shepard, I am not good enough for Miranda, so I thought you and I could hook up?

Shepard: I should go.

Jacob: (In regards to Miranda) "She deserves a better man than I. .... .... Hey FemShep... you're single!"

I thought he was pretty cool in the Marine role with Ashley gone. But Skankard I mean Sheplut I mean... yeah I haven't taked to him again, either. :? Bad move, Bioware. He could have been one of my favorite characters.

Yes, but at least you get the choice to be aggressive.

Me talking to Jacob went something like... this:

Me: Well... I guess I can talk to Jacob, since Garrus is just calibrating now. Let's see... huh. The top option sounds good. Let's try that. Oh... wait, now I'm flirting. I don't want that.
*reload*
Me: Okay, let's try the lower option this time, maybe that's better. Oh, hey, look at that, I'm flirting again. *sigh*
*reload*
Me: Okay, middle option this time. As much as I hate the neutral options, I'd like being able to have a conversation with this gu- oh, what the hell?!
*reload*
Me: ...screw it, I'm gonna talk to Miranda.

The best thing about the 4th page is that you can see that DERP post not three but FOUR times in a row.

Also...I am seeing a trend in Garrus fandom relating to Jacob hatred.

I don't think the trend is there. It's just Jacob romance is bad. I prefer his character over Kaidan and I generally like Jacob as a squaddie, but this romance is just....

Jennifer Hale has an amazingly sexy voice. I loved her in Planescape: Torment and KOTOR.

I am defeated.

But, I must admit that without the Garrus thread, I would not have known that Jacob is the only LI to actually say "I love you" to Shepard.

I think that most of us can agree that we actually *like* Jacob a lot as a character and squadmate. We just don't like the romance, because it makes our PC act out of character, and gives us no alternatives.

Even him saying that didn't save this romance. It's like booty call in space. Every single line sounds like "Let's F...k YEAHHHH !I didn't have this impression with Thane or Garrus.

I think Bioware was aiming for a "she needs a better man than I" and you think "but you are a good man, Miranada is just a <insultive explicitive>"

Not a bad theme if you do it right. There is a thousand ways to say that without being insultive to FemShep. Heck have him acknowledge you are also a great woman, if not better than Miranda and though he be the luckiest man in the world to be with you, he probably is not good enough for you either. If they really wanted to go the self wallowing route. Also, it seems odd Jacob suddenlly become the self wallowing type.

Same thing happens with the male Shepard and Jack. I was totally blindsided by my main character's admission that he wanted to sleep with her.
