i have to say of all the game forums i've used, i'm really surprised how cool and down to earth folks on these forums seem to be.  i'm really used to people being ridiculously snarky and rude on sites like digg or joystiq or forums for games like the total war series and stuff.  soooo... good job folks!!!

Although this place is a bit nastier than the old boards, that could be said. But nothing too serious. Just keep yourself away from the gaming forums and things get (hopefully) better!

It's a bit of both really. I've read my share of snark and worse at the Mass Effect and Dragon Age Awakening boards here. It used to be more peaceful in the old boards, as dark-lauron wrote, but compared to say, GameFAQs or something? Yeah it's waaaay better here.

In the month following a Bioware game release, these boards are dire as you get the sycophants and the jaded all moaning about how Bioware either has the touch of god or took the worst course in videogame development known to man.

Not to mention that people have started throwing in all the faceplam/fail thread pictures now when folk are feeling particularly silly. It's not cool really.

I was just thinking this last night myself. Most times you have to encounter some no it all game geek that thinks hes is wayy too leet for you I play games and love it, tho when it comes to being die hard and all knowing I fall short. In most places I would be snubbed cause of this , but not here aww thanks guys *group huh*...........Again

Nah seriously this off topic thread is a very nice change of pace, I had got caught up in the whole Bioware you did what and was angst for a few hours then I had my adult coffee and got over it.

The old ME forums were the first gaming forums i've signed up to and i loved it. Very nice people, however i remember one absolute tool who named himself Angelw1ng (or something along those lines)... I wonder how he's doing.

I haven't seen Angelw1ng post since Pinnacle Station came out. I think he just gave up. That or he got banned for constantly being inflammatory. Even if he wasn't very polite though, he made some good points now and then. Just leave the 'I hate teenage dweebs' moments aside and you can find something useful.

I did agree with some of his points, but the way he tried to force everyone into agreeing with him was just abnoxious and if anyone tried to put their point across or start a debate he would whip out his thesaurus and call them every name in the book..
I'm not a man to get angry over the internet but he was a first (and hopefully last).

I don't mean to imply I think it's perfect, but I just mean comparatively it's a world of difference. I have never made a comment on Digg or Joystiq for example that wasn't responded to with some dude with a reporter-tone attitude critical of my opinion or idea or whatever... but on here i can make a thread like this one for example and no one is making fun of me or "burying" me or whatever, which is pretty refreshing to be honest.
