A good "old school" narration has bigger capabilities than an image-related one; especially when it´s told instead of written.DragonDefender wrote...
Yeah I like narration but I have always been a really visceral person. Image stimula etc
I mean, very few things in this world make me feel sick, frightened, ashamed or otherwise "unease" (not calmed, that is) except some narrations and especially, when those are told by someone with good speech skills.
And that´s probably why I earn my living studing mythology.

This just elevated you to awesome status in my eyes. I love studying mythology. Made a point of it in college. But I'm nowhere near learned enough on the subject to make a career out of it.
On another note, spiders creep me out. Seriously. I almost stopped reading this thread right then and there.
I had no idea their mating habits were so similar to preying mantises. In the latter case they bite off their mate's head during the act. It's a bad species to be a male.

By now, things are working fine with it but in some months, my situation will be crappy again so hopefully, someone with the power to put money on things will consider my work worthy enough to be continued.

Thank you! You have no idea how hard it was for me to LINK TO THAT PAGE!
I think I have two fears in this world: spiders, and scorpions.
What do they call those...? Oh, right! Arachnophobes! ...And you know what really sucks? Living in a place with scorpions and spiders...
I've kinda been able to get over it, I can look at pictures now and only get butterflies (I used to get a gagging sensation).

It really was a passion for you then. Eh, dumb statement. Of course it was.
In my case I took a few mythology classes on the side. My main focus was in cultural anthropology. I found studying mythology fascinating from that perspective, but never went beyond treating it as an interesting distraction. It was one of those "for fun" subjects I didn't need to study.
Why didn't accept Berkeley, if you don't mind my asking? I mean, it doesn't sound like you're thrilled with Indiana.

It would be pure evil, Master of All. Pure unadulterated eeevil. So don't. Seriously.
I live in terror of brown recluse spiders. There's a story about that I'll save for the other thread. Can't stand spiders. Can't. Stand. Then. Gah. :/ Scorpions on the other hand don't bother me. At least no more than other many-legged bugs. I'm not a true arachnophone, I guess.

How many scorpions have you seen up close, with their little legs, their creepy claws, and their stingy stinger?!
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
EDIT: And what are you doing, telling him exactly what you fear most?

Not many I admit. Not outside captivity. They're gross, sure, but they don't instill the exact same terror in me as spiders. Spiders aren't what I fear most, by the way.
*Gasp* What could scare the great Seagloom more than spiders? What is her greatest fear? Find out on next week's episode of Dragonball Z!
P.S. The scary part of scorpions is their unnaturally fast movement. Think of a spider. They are fast, right? Scorpions kill spiders. Not because they're tricksy, but because they're motherf^_^cking Speed Racer on crack.

So what I learned from watching Spider-Man is true?Kidding. But seriously, I know scorpions are deadly. I would be scared of them insofar as their stings could kill me. I also wouldn't feel comfortable with one around and would want it gone. Preferably without killing it, but if that isn't possible I choose my life of the arachnid's. They just don't inspire the same palpable feeling of dread a large enough spider does. Maybe I'd change my mind seeing one in person crawling around a wall in my room as opposed to inside a glass case though. Who knows.
Eh, scorpions really aren't deadly (only the small ones are that venomous).
You'd change your mind if you were packing boxes into a car, sat down next to said boxes, and Mister Scorpion was RIGHT F^_^CKING THERE!

Fear of spiders is genetically hard-coded into all humans, though it's more extreme in women.
I'm not afraid of spider's and the like. But gnats, mosquitos and wasps surely freak me out. There's nothing more annoying than sleeping in a room with a gnat flying around. Somehow they got the habit of flying past my ears when I'm asleep. That sound can wake me from the dead
But spiders? No way! I actually like cross spiders. They're quite the artists when it comes to building nets
