Shepard should shoot himself in the brain and space himself, I wonder how the ME3 story will work, because all those reapers at the end of the game looked menacing. Taking down sovereign cost tons of lives, and thats just one reaper

I have a hunch that the solution either has something to do with all of the races cooperating, or Dark Energy. Or both.

Lets not forget, they're still in darkspace. We saw them outside the galaxy, they're a loooong damn way away from being threatening to anyone in the mily way galaxy unless they get their mass relay working.

Even if the repears win the war, it's not implausible that on a remote colony world shepard could live out the rest of his natural life span before the repears reach that specific planet. It took the repears centuries to clear out all life when they came for the protheans for example.

Hmm thats true, maybe shepard dies again who knows haha

1. The Rachnai
2. The Migrant Fleet (The largest fleet in space...once I get them back their homeworld)
3. The Geth (Because I'm that good a diplomat)
4. The United Krogan (Thanks Wrex!)
5. Blasto
6. And possibly those Alliance/Council idiots.

If you've killed the council and replaced it with an all human one with Udina at the head, killed the Rachni queen, killed Wrex and didnt cure the Genophage, didn't help the Quarians, didn't activate Legion and destroyed the collector base you're screwed.
It's not that impossible either. We (probably) have got the numbers, especially with possible Rachni/Krogan reinforcements and technology is advancing with reaper/collector stuff like the Thanix cannons etc.

My bet is that there's going to be some sort of deus ex machina solution. Either cutting off the Reaper army at the head (perhaps Harbringer), preventing them from getting to the Milky Way, or destroying them all at once or much more easily. You can bet on that Bioware won't let the trilogy end with the Reapers flying towards Earth.
I have a hunch that the solution either has something to do with all of the races cooperating, or Dark Energy. Or both.
I wouldn't consider it a deus ex machina if the end solution involved dark energy and/or an undiscovered weapon technology that can down Reapers, Both things are established in ME2 with the Haestrom and Derelict Reaper sections. The "ubergun" is even alluded to in ME1.
It should also be considered that we've just had a huge boost in military tech with weapons developed based on analysis of Sovereign remains and improved armour and shielding technologies.
I'm guessing: Allied galactic fleet with Reaper armaments and/or dark energy fueled supergun.

I'm not worried. I'll have some extra assistance from:
1. The Rachnai
2. The Migrant Fleet (The largest fleet in space...once I get them back their homeworld)
3. The Geth (Because I'm that good a diplomat)
4. The United Krogan (Thanks Wrex!)

I love the idea of some decisions from the ME1 (like killing or freeing the rachni queen) having a major impact on the final outcome of ME3.

"How long will that take them?"
"A few hundred thousand years."
"Meh.. good enough."
Shepard breaks out the beer.

And what about all the people that don't? I don't see why renegade shep would be in a bad situation compared to parashep. Would kind of undermine the point of having two sides of the game if one of them is destined for failure.Cutlass Jack wrote...

I'm sure RenShep probably has a fleet of Alliance Dreadnoughts equipped with Collector Technology.
