When I played ME1 and I saw the Geth I thought they looked really cool and all. Their design actually felt original which is uncommon for most sci-fi movies and games with robots. I thought the idea of their 1  eye was cool.

Anyway thats not my point, my point is that until a close up shot of Legion in ME2, I have never noticed the Geth's "eyes". I always thought they had one eye until you look closely. They have 2(or 3) small eyes next to the large "eye" which I now presume is some sort of mouth to speak.

Yeah, I thought the same as you until I got Legion in my part, then I noticed the "eyes"

Haha when I saw it, I was just "WTF!?!?!?!?" because all this time though that the have one eye. The 2 small eyes are cool but the one seeems better.

This is a confusin topic since I'm not sure about the main sensor. if it is a speech device or an "eye"

I'm not really sure what the central light is for. I doubt it's specifically for sound, because they communicate electronically, not verbally (except for Legion) and have no use for a mouth. Likely they are all "sensors" in some way, they are just arranged in such a way that makes them have more of a "face" and therefore is more familiar.

The central light acts like a lense shutter on a camaera , so Id say that is the "eye." Remeber legion isnt just 1 single geth AI, the smaller light maybe be sensors or even extra eyes so it can input more visual data.

The Legion platform is unique, it's not constructed the same as other geth. They don't all have the extra lights or the panels that allow him to use facial expressions.

The main light is still the geth's "face" and eye. The extra lights are just trimming.

I think the main-light is the primary optical sensorics.

I can't think of another sensoric system that would need a shutter like that.



The other "eyes" arround the head are probably secondary sensors, used for additional data-receiving and calculations for three-dimensional sight.
