EDIT: Also, what do you mean "did wrong"? Getting Renegade points is a reward, not a punishment. Since the Paragon and Renegade bars are completely seperate, getting either Paragon or Renegade points has only positive effects upon Shepard's ability to persuade people. You're basically complaining about being given points which unlock more dialogue options and chances to roleplay.

Actually... I haven't confirmed this absolutely, but from what I hear, having a high Renegade score can make it more difficult to make Paragon checks than it otherwise would be, and vice-versa.Gill Kaiser wrote...

I don't think its random you either have the points or you don't,they're not using the coin flip thing Bethesda did in Fo3.
I'm going back to bethesda allot, weird.

What, no, i just want to know how to avoid renegade points, and i never have, so i felt like i was being forced into renegade points a few times with out noticing it, and still dont, such as refusing to do the iff mission instantly, boom i get renegade points for not killing my self early, or somehow i was being badass, still dont and wont understand that one, but i will be more carefull on thax now, unless its not optionalSaren100 wrote...

During the part where you go to find Samara, you picked up the evidence. At that point, you have a choice to send it or not. If you missed talking to the Asari thief earlier, you won't know what is going on. The Asari thief is terrified of Thax, who apparently kills people who cross him. When you give him the evidence, there is a strong possibility that one of the Asari's accomplices gets killed but this is not confirmed.

So why all the ftard debate? You use a terminal to send missing data to Thax's boss letting him know that the Asari **** was trying to steal his ****. So Thax brings you a reward.
This was somehow hard to understand?

If you haven't noticed, you can be both, and it makes far more sense for Shepard to be at least somewhat of a mix of Paragon/Renegade. Simply choosing the top option in every conversation isn't really roleplaying.

The guy might be a "crime" boss, but who the hell isn't on Illium?
You get a nice credit reward, as well as both renegade and paragon points and the asari who was stealing from him (stealing from a crime boss, good idea there, sweetheart) gets caught.

Ok so i return to IIium, and this Krogan starts talking to me about a Thax and that he is thankfull for some sort of note or shipping i gave him, i dont know, i chose all the top replys and i get renegade points, did i miss something, this is my fourth playthrough and i still dont know who this Thax basterd is and always do paragon but is this a slap to the face from bioware, sometimes i get renegade points and i dont even know what i did wrong, like after that collector trap mission, i told my everyone we needed to continue building the team so we dont walk in uprepaired, but aparently that was a dirty move and i got renegade points
Let me guess. Your not too big on reading are you. Because if you were you would realize that Thax is a Krogon "businessman." When you entered the crime scene at Illium and read one of the notepads it indicates that one of Mr. Thax's employees is embezzling from him and you are given the choice to upload the file to Mr. Thax or not. Uploading it to Mr. Thax gives you renegade points when his messenger comes to reward you.
