I wonder whats thax race is we all know he's not krogan he just seems way to calm about being ripped off

I remember the game saying he was Krogon "businessman" (gangster).  If you find the Asari who was ripping him off after you tip him off she is freaking out telling someone over the phone to run.  I think they threw Mr. Thax in to show that not all the Krogon are mindless savages.  I mean they were able to figure out how to create nuclear weapons on their own which is why Tuchanka is in ruins.

In both of my playthroughs, I missed the dialogue that says Thax is a criminal. On my next playthrough, I'll have to remember not to send the data.

All I know is that he employs the chillest most articulate krogan in the galaxy.

Haha Thax isn't calm about being ripped off, his rep was just acting pleasant to put on a front rather than saying "we're gonna beat the **** out of/kill that asari"

Since the Paragon and Renegade bars are completely seperate, getting either Paragon or Renegade points has only positive effects upon Shepard's ability to persuade people.

Actually... I haven't confirmed this absolutely, but from what I hear, having a high Renegade score can make it more difficult to make Paragon checks than it otherwise would be, and vice-versa.

I have verified this to be balony. I tend to play a mixed Shepard and I never had problems to do the checks for my higher meter. The only time you will run into a problem is if one meter surpasses the other. Then you might get a different reaction from Samara and stuff like that. Otherwise only the meter itself and i(n the case of Samara) which ever is higher counts. There is no interference what so ever.

What people encountered is a bug that with a newgame+ the requirements for social persuasion goes up. But this has nothing to do with opposing interference and just that the game does not acknowledge your skill high enough.

Edit - Why did someone reserruct a 6 day dead theread?!. That said, I think Thax is like a mafia don. People are afraid of him yet he is so polite and well mannered that even his Krogan goons speak with such elogance.

He's the guy who that asari in the middle of the Illium dock area was planning to rip off. You found evidence of her holding back excess merchandise from Thax while still charging him for the full price, and forwarded it to Mr. Thax.

EDIT: Also, what do you mean "did wrong"? Getting Renegade points is a reward, not a punishment. Since the Paragon and Renegade bars are completely seperate, getting either Paragon or Renegade points has only positive effects upon Shepard's ability to persuade people. You're basically complaining about being given points which unlock more dialogue options and chances to roleplay.

Some people think this is kotor and that it makes you a sith to have renegade points.

What, no, i just want to know how to avoid renegade points, and i never have, so i felt like i was being forced into renegade points a few times with out noticing it, and still dont, such as refusing to do the iff mission instantly, boom i get renegade points for not killing my self early, or somehow i was being badass, still dont and wont understand that one, but i will be more carefull on thax now, unless its not optional

i could be wrong, but you usualy receive renegade/paragon points after the mission is complete. In this case the whole Collector-Vessel/Trap thing would be the mission. Maybe you used a dialogue choice in there, that gave you the renegade points. Like what you said after you find out about the trap, or after you talked to TIM.
