Honestly, I thought at first the name was either a joke or a placeholder. I really dislike anime, and the characters name seemed like something from an anime movie. Yes, I am aware the name is Japanese. However, the folks posting images of high-school looking girls with big swords giggling doesn't help. That being said, this company has earned the benefit of the doubt, I will trust they can create a nice new companion :)

theres nothing wrong with kasumi or the name... :P  lol, Im finding it hilarious all you can think of when kasumi is mentioned is anime.  Real blind outlook, no offense

Isn't that strange.. People hear something sounding remotely japanese and the first words out of their mouths are anime or weeabo, whatever that means. People need to expand their minds. It's great to learn, cause knowledge is power!

But at the same time, someone mentions anything about the U.S. and you get nothing but fat jokes. I guess it goes both ways.

Also, I didn't get to see the video before it got taken down, anyone care to describe it?

a weeabo is a japanese fanatic practically, and they are pretty damn annoying, their like christian fanatics, making us other christians look bad, they really have no idea how stupid they are, infact, their basically a fanatic version of a prejudicial person.

Yeah it does go both ways, still, theres no need to stoop to one's level on this one, especially if you think hating on another ethnicity earns you pride points, all it does is make you look like an idiot <_< nuff said...

anyways going back on topic, if ea really did take it down, then theres only one thing, unnofficial confirmation B)

if she was truly cut-and-forget content, I don't think ea would go through all the trouble just to have this vid removed

You just have alot of prejudice people in these forums, racial or otherwise...

These forums are clean.

Pfft, my ass...

A real clean forum wouldn't have flame wars every now and then, people pulling the racial cards at each other, numerous trolls, threads that go nowhere and is , really, a dormant trap, and even people who arn't essentially trolls are accused of being trolls for their opinions!(yeah some are obvious from the start, obvious troll is obvious, but really you have a guy asking for multiplayer and he's called a troll, seriously...)

ok, sometimes the above isn't always around, but still, it ain't clean as far as I can tell you=]

These are the best your getting from a public boards.

Like seriously, these are the best public gaming boards I've ever frequented.

Neat.  Thanks :3
That's just a placeholder body, right? <.<  Hope she looks better than that. Hehe.
I guess Kasumi's not tech-heady enough to close the door on time :3

Cool, but what does Shepard need a master thief for? Is he going after the hope diamond after he beats the Collectors? I mean, if I were Shepard I'd rather have another battle hardened soldier or biotic badass than a master thief. I'm trying to figure out how her skills would be useful, and why they would need to recruit her....

Are they not breaking into an enemy base? Seems to me ninja's, infiltrators, assasins, thiefs, would be be the most logical make up of your crew.

Yeah except they all but ring the doorbell before running straight into every Collector in the base...I didn't see a whole lot of covertness going on...

That's great when you have the hindsight of knowing that. Shepard doesn't know what she's going to run into. Better to recruit experts from every field to be prepared.

Yeah, but having an assassin that can infiltrate without being seen kinda already fills that position. Having another character that can infiltrate seems...wasteful. She's basically going to be Thane 2. Also, the master thief angle seems very contrived. Like hambone contrived.

It seems like if I was going against impossible odds, knew it was a suicidal mission with a very slim chance of actual survival, and already had a master assassin that could infiltrate damn near anything without being seen, the last person I would think to take would be a thief.... I could think of a million and one other people I would rather take...

Don't get me wrong, I welcome a new squadmember regardless of what it is, but this whole thief origin comes across to me as extremely corny and needless.

Edit: Not to mention knowing what I know of the end, and there being no need for any covert infiltration whatsoever, I know my Shepard would be saying, " Dammit, I wish I would have recruited another Krogan with laser beams and jet packs on his feet with double shotguns that shot monkeys with grenades attached to their foreheads instead of two freaking sneaky types!"

hence getting Grunt, Zaeed, Jacob, Samara, and Jack who are all straight up fighters either guns or biotics.

They are the muscle.

Thane and Garrus are really the only real covert types on the team and putting Garrus in that category is kind of a stretch since he could be both covert and muscle.

Tali, Legion, and Mordrin are technical side of things.

Really when you look at your team it's heavy on raw power and lacking in more subtle areas.

Makes Sense that the next DLC character would fill a more sneak type roll to the crew.

No, it doesn't make sense because there's no sneak mode in this game, there's no infiltrate base without being seen missions in this game, there's not even a peak a boo mini game. There is NO NEED for any sneak type characters in this game at all.

I can't be the only person that gets this. This game is either conversations, or straight up gunplay in your face. If there were missions where you had to sneak around I'd say yeah, give me two infiltrators, but seeing as there isn't even a crouch button, why have people who can sneak? Which ironically, they don't sneak while in combat, only Infiltrator Shepard can use the cloaking power, not even Thane, the awesome sneaking assassin, has a power that has anything to do with his specialty...SNEAKING...

Until they make having a sneaking characters useful, or give sneaking characters a sneaking skill, I would much rather see a powerhouse instead of another squadmember that can only use heavy pistol and submachine gun, and probably either AI hacking or Warp....
