A common mistake, a lot of people know who the great defenders are without even knowing about Hold the Line. Most people know their own Squad and know who the combat badasses are. Also I think it only takes loyalty for your own last boss party to survive. I find it kind of funny you took all 3 of the defenders away from the Line. It is a hidden mechanic many people do not know about.Thargorichiban wrote...
That is quite true about the hold the line mechanic. I always wondered why my loyal Mordin died during that scene. Now I realize it was because I sent Zaeed back with the crew and then I brought Grunt and Garrus with me at the end.
I think a lot of people send Grunt back with the crew. Thus loosing 1 of the 3 top defenders. Then confused Mordin dies. Ironically Mordin is the number 1 splatter. So he is the best candidate to send with the crew (as long as you have his loyalty). It is funny that all you need for crew survival is loyalty. Took me awhile to see the logic. They go back the way you came. Think about it, you pretty musch blasted your way through there, and doing a 2 prong charge deeper in. In short, there's not gonna be a lot of resistance for the Escort. He just needs to be focused. People assume they need a "tank". Ironically, you need the "tanks" for the line.
Now back on Track:
Kasumi, clearly she can fill the Tech role, so I am expecting Tech abilities. I'd think she will be similiar to Thane in contribution for the Line. I do hope she has full character dialogue on the Normandy, even if it is only 1-2 sections. I loved Zaeed's story, but his Normandy presence made him feel like he was tacked on to the game. Nice Loyalty Mission, but man he felt like scenary on the Normandy.
