So I was just wondering. After beating the final boss and watching the credits roll, your character will be exported. Thing is, you can still continue playing to do sidequests and DLC. This happens after the character export, so will the finished quests be added to the export afterwards?

I think you can export any post-suicide mission savegame. It's not the same as ME1 with the secret save.

In fact, you need to have a save post-boss fight. If you reload to another save your autosave will be reverted back so you can't use that. Do yourself a favour and each time you complete the game click on continue and make a save.
For Mass Effect 3 they will use regular saves from Mass Effect 2 when importing. Any save made post-credits will be import-able.
So yes, any quests you do after the credits will still count.

I prefer it this way, because it'll make it much easier for them to add DLC missions (no doubt that's why they changed the export method), and also because it means that I can happily leave a number of N7 missions uncompleted until after the suicide mission, so that I can obtain all of Legion's conversations while still saving the entire crew.

Indeed. This system is far superior, the save games are also a lot easier to modify.

They still might have checksums for ME3 import, so any edited savegame might cause problems for import into ME3 down the line.
Better to keep track of what you have modded and what is still clean.

You can either start a new character or import another character from ME1 on the character creation/start screen.
Unless you mean something else?

there are no secret saves. whatever save game you have that is post suicide mission works.

Hmm I thought you could export your ME2 character so it didn't get overwritten for ME3. Am I confused here?
