This is the first time that I have ever done any kind of fan fiction. It's VERY much work in progress and I have't done much yet but I just wanted a bit of feedback but please be gentle with me, like I said it's my first time, I'm a " fan fiction virgin " lol

The Scene - A warm summers day in the Bannorn

Our intrepid group trek ever onward in search of the mythical urn of ashes.

STEN - So explain to me again why we are searching for this urn of ashes? Have I got this right so far, we are desperately pressed for time, the darkspawn blight lead by the archdemon could arrive at any moment, if we miss our window of opportunity and the blight arrives before we have an army prepared then Ferelden is pretty much screwed, and we are taking time out to travel 3 days in the opposite direction to find the ashes of some dead chick so that we can heal the Arl of Redcliffe so that he will reward us by sending his army to help us in the battle?

ALISTAIR - That's about the size of it

STEN - Well, forgive me for being padantic but the Arl lies dying and nobody expects him to live anyway and his brother,Ban Tegan, the next in line to the Arl-ship, who would ALSO have the authority to send the army to our aid if he became Arl, is with him? Am I the only one seeing a quicker and much easier solution here?

MORRIGAN - No, you are not, trust me, humph! *rolls eyes*

* Alistair stops dead in his tracks *

ALISTAIR - Well, were screwed !

MORRIGAN - Whatever are you on about ?

ALISTAIR - Just look....some idiot left a bloody great log lying across the path.

MORRIGAN - I fail to see the problem, simpleton! climb over it !

ALISTAIR - I cant, just look at the height of it, it must be at LEAST 2 feet high, I couldnt possibly climb over anything that tall.

LELIANA - Wait a minute, what's the problem, it's not that high, didnt you jump about 9 foot into the air last night when you 'oh so dramatically' leapt in and drove your sword into that Ogre's chest ? An ogre which, might I add, was already on it's last legs after I had spent 10 minutes turning it into a pin cushion but noooooooo, you HAD to run in front of me to get the dramatic killing blow didn't you ? Hmph !!

MORRIGAN - 10 minutes ? Ha ha ha, I could have destroyed the beast easily in less than 2

LELIANA - Its a dexterity thing ok !!

ALISTAIR - Look, they didn't cover " climbing over small logs " in Templar basic training, we'll just have to go another way ok !!

STEN - *Sigh!*

WYNNE - Will you please stop bickering, I am trying to concentrate on being self important and wise over here !

MORRIGAN - Oh puh-lease !! and where were you when I was getting seven shades of crap pounded out of me, I'm pretty sure you could have done your healing jiggery-pokery, you do have healing spells dont you?

WYNNE - yes

MORRIGAN - and you know how to cast them?

WYNNE - yes

MORRIGAN - so why didn't you ?

WYNNE - I don't have them selected in the 'tactics' lobe of my brain

MORRIGAN - So you thought it would be more usefull to just stand there waving your walking stick at them ?

ZEVRAN - We could have avoided the ogre if we had gone down that big hole in the ground that I repeatedly pointed out to you, why did we not go down there ?

ALISTAIR - I have explained this, we couldn't go down the hole because it wasn't REALY there

MORRIGAN - Ahhh It's so clear to me now you have explained it properly

ZEVRAN - I saw it, did you guys ?

MORRIGAN, WYNNE, STEN - Yes!

ALISTAIR - *sigh* - It was 'there', but we couldn't possibly have gone into the tunnels because we needed to go to the top of the tower to raise the alarm and light the signal fire

STEN - But surely it would have made more tactical sense to go into the tunnels, thus avoiding the ogre altogether, circling around and flank the attacking darkspawn from the rear, taking them completely by supprise and saving the day ?

ALISTAIR - Listen Sun-tzu just leave the decision making to me ok ? Gaahhh !! Why do I bother ?

ROFL!  That was too funny!  I loved the parts about Wynne just waving her walking stick in battle and Alistair not climbing over a 2-foot log, hehe. Posted Image

It's quite funny! The hardest thing about humor is the pacing and you've definitely got a good ear for that. I would suggest two things... 1. Put a space between each line to make it a bit easier to read and 2. spell check and grammar check til you can't do either any more without your eyes bleeding. For this, I find it helps to read it outloud to get a feel for commas, apostrophes, etc.

Well done!

I approve! We need some shale though. Maybe a deep discussion between Shale and Alistair involving griffons and poop. That's what was missing... a good bird poop joke lol i appreciate the simple things in life hehe
