First off, after just completing ME2 I would have to say that overall, I tend to think that this is probably the most fun I have ever had playing an RPG.  The depth of the story, unique personalities of the characters, and perhaps above all, the power of the music really impressed me beyond what I had expected.  As someone who is an avid fan of all “quality” RPG games, I have to admit that I will likely keep playing the life of Shepard well into the future.

However, if there is one area of the game that I was disappointed in it would be the overall length and the quests that occur after compiling all your squad members.  Like many others have stated already, I had expected that once you had completed the search for all the new members of your team, Shepard would enter the Omega 4 Relay and then the “heart” of the game would begin.  Once entering the relay, my belief was that at this point, the other half of ME2 would be dedicated to a relentless battle in the galactic core to hunt down and defeat the Collectors.   However, like we found out, the heated and lengthy battle we had expected was actually very short and in my case, left me somewhat disappointed as to how short the game was.

In reality though, this expectation for a longer RPG experience is really a compliment to BioWare as I enjoyed ME2 so much that when it was over, I sat there asking myself, “now what am I going do?”  For the future though, I truly hope that ME3 will much more massive in size and scope of the story options, quest lines, and the areas available to explore.  If ME3 is actually going to be the end story for Shepard, it would be justice to the trilogy of the end chapter was a massive, epic experience and an ensign as to what a great RPG should be.

So… those are my thoughts, what do the rest of you think?

I agree, it is a great game. The characters, the dialogue, and even the N7 side missions seems so well thought out and detailed. I am a slow player, frequently revisit areas for shopping and extra dialogues and quests I may have missed. I have visited every area I can find, completed all quests that I could find, and read about 75% of the codex. I am 62 hours in and aboard the Reaper IFF. Length is satisfying to me. My two playthroughs of Dragon Age averaged about 95 hours.

I prefer quality over quantity. ME2's story was mediocre.
