You know I tried playing with a female PC and ended up romancing Leliana... lol

Not me, should try it at some point though! :) Would be fun in Awakening if the game would crash cause Alistair or Anora wanted to ask you about it and it wasn't implemented that there was none hehe :)

Like Wynne said, you can try to lead a normal life, but it would not
work out.
If you want to roleplay your character that way I am fine
with that, but I will say your character is selfish. I just don't think
that a real Warden would keep those close ties with romances knowing his
responsibilies must come first.

Okay. I would "almost" agree to this. however......

1) the pc's had no choice but to join. Even if they agreed willingly. The scenarios are set up, you ARE going to be a Grey Warden

2) Being a Grey Warden does not cancel out your human nature. Or "person" nature. since I need to cover other races.

3) Regardless of the duties of a Grey Warden. It is not natural to become a machine to a cause.

Now, having said that. I am not stressing over continuation to the origins or main pc's at this point. Looking at it as "Duty and responsibility" however. Really takes human nature out of the grand scheme of things. Which is not at all natural

For the first statement, I stated that in the post you took might one quote from. As for the "person" nature statements and how it's not natural to become a machine to the cause, I agree that it would be hard for a person to accept the role and leave everything in the dust. I am saying though, it would be irresponsible not to do it.  Duncan saved your life to serve and I think that should be honored. There is such thing as a real Grey Warden, Duncan was basically it. It was said by Riordian (w/e)  that Duncan knew sooner than the rest how much they had to give up to become a Grey Warden. There can be romance and passion, but it cannot supercede your duty/responsibility. If the game is to go on, then the PC needs to be a Warden. The PC needs to follow a certain path. A river may wind and turn, but the water still all collects in the same place.

Thats a very interesting question by Morrigan actually... :) When does she ask that before the final battle or before/during the ritual talk?

She asked when the approval was in the 80s and just warm..  There was no flirting before that. Still had the deep roads to do.

At least. I think there was no fliting  :police:

Duncan doesn't always save your life, in some origins he actually forces you against your will into the Grey Wardens, and shows the less noble side of their nature.  Also not all Wardens are like Duncan and Riordan, the ones in the Anderfels (which is the Wardens headquarters) sound very different if you talk to Riordan about them.

I do know some of my PCs hated Duncan, for one HNM from his point of view Duncan used his own parents impending death and the end of their line as blackmail to force their agreement into conscripting my PC into the Wardens, and when my PC refused used the Rite of Conscription to force the issue.  Duncan did it because he sees he needs the best warriors to fight the darkspawn, but needless to say, the way I played that PC he never really felt any great support for the Wardens, nor any loyalty to their cause beyond the fact that the darkspawn had to be defeated to save Ferelden (which as a noble of that land he was committed to, and that he wanted revenge on Howe and by extension Loghain, those were his motivations).  Once done he leaves the Wardens for all intents and purposes to become the Consort and couldn't care less about them (if he would have the choice he would exile them from Ferelden once more ).  Now his is a very biased viewpoint, but it is how some PCs will feel about Duncan and see his actions, he is not always the saviour

Yeah you can actually remain on just friendly terms with Morrigan as a male Warden, she doesn't automatically go into 'interested' status, there seem to be certain convo options you have to take first (though of course it's pretty easy to trigger them, and there are quite of few romance activators in her convos with her :D)

She asks that if you are just friends with her and finished her side quest.

Something like "Have you ever considered that we could be something more than friends?". In a serious manner I might add... which is surprising, considering she's always playful(or b!tchy) with these type of discussions

Depending on what you answer you may end up in her tent... which is a bad thing because you'll end up straight in the "love" zone(no more flirting or sex once you are in Morrigan's love zone) :P

Human Noble Male Duel Sword Warrior.

Named Victor.

General all around nice guy. Not much for the Chantry, but to each his/her own. Mages have rights too. Not much for athority either. Got kind of a smart mouth as well. Tried Morigan but prefered Lilianas more goodie-goodie innocence. Let Zevhran "admire the view," but isn't into guys. Loves drinkin with Ohgren... "Asschabs!" Got Sten +47 in a single conversation.

I think he means because she refuses to sleep with you from that point on (where she is in love with your PC and you have given her Flemeth's real Grimoire) :D

Well, I said it's a bad thing because you'll only sleep with her once and then she'll start acting like a b!tch by begging you to break up with her.

It's far more entertaining to go through all the flirting before you decide to get into the love zone.

@Curlain

Not quoting because that length is getting too long lol. Anyways, I will again say I support a person's choice to roleplay however they want and there is no "right" way. There are some who speculate that HN would not have survived without Duncan's help getting beyond the line made by Howe's men. I see it more as obeying your father's will to go with Duncan, but that's just me and other people can play their own way. Duncan is willing to do whatever it takes to end the Blight. Maybe I did speak too fast about he "saved" your life, but the game has to progress. If you could make any choice I am sure you would not have been made a Grey Warden and Duncan would have just walked away with a disappointed look. He would never let you join if he knew you would do more harm than good for the cause.

As for the Anderfels' Wardens, we really do not know how the Wardens became the rulers. Possibly at the time it was the only solution to unite the people there and the Wardens felt a Blight on the way so they kind of stepped in. That might be a stretch, but we really don't know the whole situation and cannot consider them.
