I do have one ending
Alistair is King
Anora in prison
Loghain dead. Dueled him myself, let Alistair take the final blow
I went off with the GW's
Had NO romance with any npc..
Female noble rogue/Assassin/duelist

not exact, but close   :)

Wow, close indeed!
What was your motivation for this ending ?

Business! She had an agenda and completed it. Howe dead by her hands, Loghain paid for his crimes. Alistair king "and hardened btw" so he was a decent king. Anora dethroned.. Apple never falls far from the tree.... So kicked her to the curb...

Wondering if anyone else saw the human noble story this way?

Kind of I guess... Most of my human noble characters started out thinking this way and considered vengeance very important, however they also considered fighting the blight very important and had some honour in being a Grey Warden. In the end they still got their revenge and fought the Blight... My first noble is very much the Grey Warden and finds duty important... The 2nd one I'm working on considers his Grey Warden business more or less done with after the Blight and considers it just another job, but he finds finding Morrigan far more important.

I think the games design easily allows you to lose focus. A good example are the Dalish. At first, you very much are in touch with the culture etc... But as the game progresses, it is easy to even forget you are playing an elf. I found this to be one aspect very lacking in the over all story..

I noticed this as well ... Makes for playing a race other than human difficult ... The worst for me are the dwarves... They seem to have no real reason to be concerned with anything human. I suppose this would make for more roll-play possibilities come Landsmeet, etc..

I have made a female city elf DW rogue - now there is another vengence story ... Figure to play this one as having a nasty chip on for humans...

I finished this one. she took the ultimate sacrifice.  It seemed fitting for her. I loved the story, and how I played her. Poor Zevran though.... lost his love and never loved again..  :)

I have a male city elf now..  He is about half way through.. not decided yet...

As long and the good aspect are more than the bad ones, I am quite happy to be here.  I have a pretty calm personality, so I can deal with most of the frustrating things that go on in Italy.
I have been in worse places ...;)

I agree with you here, the Origins are not really taken far enough throughout the story line sometimes, even in some replies. Only exception to this seems to be the Human Royal origin.

I had a nifty thought

Would it not have been very coolies of Fergus was found pre saving Anora? Join your party and have a hand in killing Howe? See, things like this would have really joined the story together. Made them much more intense and exciting.

I cannot see some of this shifting over to Awakening very well either ... Again, most likely 'human' will make the most roll-play sense ...

hehe that would have been nice! :) I found it a bit of a letdown that Fergus was only there at the end... Also when you first reach Lothering you hear that a band of Ash Warriors came through, but you never actually come across them... :(

Indeed... By doing this BW made of him something like those typical pointless character in tv or cartoon series which arrive always when all is ended...  Image IPB
