It think it'd accomplish two things.

1. Increase Adept survivability, which I think is lacking compared to other classes.

2. Remove a redundant power from the lineup.

While playing an Adept, I find little to no use for shockwave. We already have two powers for crowd control (Pull and Singularity) and two for direct damage. (Warp and Throw) Combining them is something I can already do on my own. I can see how it'd be more helpful for a class that doesn't have access to both powers like a Vanguard though.

Anyway, what do you think? Good move or no?

I was always wondering why the adept has no barrier, especially when miranda says in the final mission that every biotic could do it. Too bad that i was playing a adept and couldn't do a barrier myself ...

watch this video. A single Vorcha takes down a 10 point heavy barrier in, literally, one second. I would love this power if it gave more protection. If it allowed me to snipe an extra few shots before I took too much damage and had to take cover again it would be awesome. But as it's working in game I would argue it's a waste of skill points.  In fairness, some people find it usefull, so you may want to try it yourself  - you can always change it (for 2500 EZ) to something else if you don't like it.

but you do have barrier,  barrier = shield for vanguard and adept.

Personally I'd just put 1 point into Barrier, just so you can refresh your barrier when you're near death, more of an emergency talent. I find that an 8 second (at best) cooldown is too much to use often, especially as an Adept.

Yeah shockwave is pretty useless, I've always preferred singularity...but I just find it so fun on lower difficulties :P...I had barrier on my first playthrough (it was insanity...I needed barrier)

instead of barrier I went with one point in energy drain. It is awesome because even at level one it would bring my shields almost all the way back up. Its an awesome bonus talent for an adept and also gives the adept a power to knock out shields.
