I wonder if there is a way you can get Legion and use him in regular play without costing you your crew members. I always do the loyalty mission and N7 missions before the IFF since I don't want to lose my crew. But can I hold off the optional missions until I get Legion and still be able to do them without losing the crew.

After the crew gets taken you cant really do any missions, so yeah technically you cant use legion for any missions, unless you wanna risk the crew.

You can do his loyalty mission and that's about it. Unless you leave stuff for after you've completed the game.
