Version: Mass Effect 1.01

Hardware Info:

                  Processor - Intel® Pentium® D CPU 2.66GHz
Clock Speed - 2660 MHz              Physical Memory - 1.99 GB
Display Adapter - NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS                   VRAM - 512 MB
                 Driver Version - 186.18
                 Sound Adapter - SigmaTel Audio
                 Driver Version - 5.10.4823.0

System Info:

Operating System  - Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
DirectX Version - DirectX 9.0c (Mar2009) or later

I installed this using a physical disk.

The following message appears whenever I go to the main menu (not the "press any key" one, the next one).
It does not appear if I start playing and then come back to the main menu later.
It appears in a normalish menuish notification box - I mean it doesn't pop up as code or something.

"ERROR Data Loss: ERROR multipart 2da (PlotManager__Profile__part__5) has named row names while parent only has numeric names. 2DAs failed to merge. 2DA DATA HAS BEEN LOST!."

                                                                           "OK"

The same message pops up right after except with Achievments__Part__5 in the parenthisiezes.
This error started occurring after I enabled the console. I should mention that the first time I tried to enable the console, I changed something, yet it did not work. The second time, I must have changed the right thing.
When I try to "activate" a couple achievements using the consolel, they don't get "activated". I'm pretty sure it is the insanity game completion and the pistol expert one. All the others achievements worked. I don't really care about the achievements, but I do care about PlotManager__Profile__Part__5 part. I'm worried that it might effect my save game for Mass Effect 2.

Judging from the message, my guess is that while trying to activate the console, I accidently added an extra letter to the 2da files. So the thing to do would be to simply delete the extra letter. I tried to find them, but I couldn't; so I was wondering if anyone knows how I could find these 2da files, or specificly were they are.
I'm pretty sure this could be solved by reinstalling, but I have absoulutely no idea were my disc isImage IPB.

On side note, I'm sorry if someone posted this already, but when I try to use the search, it says something about me not being cleared for searching, or something like that.

Sorry for any typos.

EDIT: To fix this, I re-installed my game, I only kept the saves when un-installing; in other words, when asked what to keep, do not keep the settings. Just keep the saves.
If you don't have your disk, you are out of luck; but there is still a "real" fix for this, I just don't know how.

You should first find your disc and reinstall and if the problem persists then add a new forum post about it. I don't know if I can help you find your disk, but did you look behind your desk, maybe it is there?

Lol, it wasn't behind the desk; thanks for the advice though. I found it in my dresser for some reason. Maybe there was a good one back then; I have no idea why it was there.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Yup, it's fixed. Now, I just have to wait for BDTS to finish installing.

I'm so happy it worked.

i installed BDTS without reinstalling the game and i still get these two errors. i don't even know what they mean, what is happening, since the game runs just fine.

and about uninstalling: ME1 has the 5 install limitation, do i need to "unauthorise" the game prior to uninstalling it in order to keep the current "slot"? and is this limit still in place, or is it removed by the dlcs?

thank you.
