That was just wishful thinking. End of February is a more sound guess, just a few more days now :P

Wait, just a clarification. Please forgive the nuisance, but we've been waiting excitedly here.

"End of February" + "just a few more days now".

Are you saying

1) announcement maybe in just a few more days, content end of February.

2) we'll hear the announcement at the end of February.

3) just expect stuff sometime before March.

So now it's the end of Feb.

"End of Feb." to me has always and will always mean at or falling in the last week of February. So like I said, we're a few days short of being in "the last week of February"

So, "sometime next week".

The real question you should be asking is what’s included in this Hammerhead download. Will we get several new quests adding hours to game play or just a handful to show off the new toy? Do we actually get to drive it?

Frankly ME2 is a huge let down in the side quest department compared to ME1. With only 13 of these N7 quests compared to the 34 UNC ME1 had. Unless we get several hours of game play added, I may not bother with this download (free or not) until I get the desire to play the game again and that’s going to be a long while from now.

I think this moderator knows as much about the release of the content as any of the rest of us.

Also, in relation to the side quests comment right above, I rather enjoyed the non cut-paste side quests of ME2.  34 might be an impressive number for ME1, but you need to be realistic and account for repetition.

Honestly, the repetition never bothered me as much as lack of content.

I'd much rather have something very similiar to do again, then be done with the game.

Apparently you all didn't play DA:O or else you wouldn't be surprised by the delay. Return to Ostagar had just one hour of new content and ended up being delayed a month (and still isn't even out for the PS3).

-The game only is about repetition now. Mission starts, shoot everything that moves, mission ends, onto the next one mission or scan planet, launch probe and repeat. What’s the point of spending time on these building and ship templates if you don’t use them more than a handful of times? In ME1 at some point in every system there was a quest to do, either on a planet or on a ship. In ME2 there isn’t squat and quite a few of those N7 missions take less than 5 minutes to do.

-Exactly! After scanning 5 star systems worth of planets and finding nothing to do besides collect minerals, that by the way you have absolutely no use for after you beat the game, I got bored and really annoyed at the developers in this direction they took. Like I’ve posted in another topic, I would rather be bored by having to many quests (like in Oblivion) than be bored because there isn’t anything to do.

Back to the topic…

After looking up the Hammerhead, at least it look pretty cool. As long as it comes out when its fully finished any delay is fine with me. I would rather they made sure they got it right than put out a product that wasnt. But the track record isn’t all that great so far. Issues by several about armor, mainly the helmets that cant be removed and Zaeed having no recruitment quest. He’s just conveniently found before you even get into Omega before you really even get to play the game are two that quickly come to mind. Have to wait and see I guess.

Yes! Yes, a million times yes!

I love playing the game, and I love doing so in my continuity. I honestly don't want to have to start up a new character or undo all of my choices just to shoot more guys.

Would it really be that hard to have included either more random N7 type missions, or some kind of infinite random encounter generator?

Heck, it wouldn't have even needed to be new models. Have my ship be boarded by Batarian terrorist, put me back in that area Garrus' loyalty mission took place and I have to fight off Ecipse Mercs or Geth Infiltrators, I don't even need to see anything new - but please give me an excuse way to keep playing the game without having to do the game over again.

Now, perhaps doing that just as far-after-release DLC might be a "Pinnacle Station" type mistake (probably would), but for inclusion in ME3 ... I would LOVE a huge supply of side missions, even if they are a little cookie-cuttery. A galaxy should feel HUGE. I should NEVER be at the head of my starship, the galaxy at my fingers and say ... "Oh, I guess there's nothing to do."

OR, it could be still 120 hours or so from now.

Just because it's suppose to be coming THIS WEEK doesn't necessarily mean TODAY.

That being said, it would be awesome if at least the announcement hit today. I'm not expecting it to be late in the week honestly, since the most recent patch notes already mention resetting keys to default *for vehicle control*.

Ok, so this week (just in time, btw!), but we don't know when this week.

My guess, it won't come today, but the ANNOUNCEMENT will come today. Since they've already added it into the patch notes, they have to be confident enough to give us the announcement today - probably in about 2 hours? But that's a guess.

I expect the actual DLC won't hit until tomorrow, probably late afternoon / early-evening.

There, that's my guess.

That seems like as solid a guess is any.

Didn't Cerberus Armor / Eviscerator come out on a Tuesday, or is my memory just going bad?

That would be great.

I am too.

I hope javier stops by at some point and let's us know what might be a good time to check for the announcement to save us the constant rechecking ... but he's already had to put up with us enough that he might not bother at this point - and given some posters. Or he could be off doing something else - I don't even really understand how the "work week" of mods even works.

In either case, looking forward to a possible/probable/but-not-definite announcement or pre-announcement of the announcement today, lol.

That's true and while I much prefer the new unique locations for the N7 missions over the generic pre-fabs slapped on a terragen-ed map, I really miss the character interaction and deep story each of the UNC missions had in ME1. Remember the standoff with Toombs? or Major Kyle? Great stories all of them, it made the fact that you were raiding the same 3 room building over and over tolerable.

The N7 missions solved the repetitious locations aspect but they also axed the good story and character interaction, all the story of the N7 missions  is shown in MMO-esque text pop-ups, it's entirely possible to complete an N7 mission and know nothing about what's going on there other than that there's bad guys to shoot there.

The more I think about it, the more interesting this question is.

I mean, you wouldn't be going down to a planet for no reason, so what kind of stories (one main story?) will we be seeing here.... I''m interested to see how this plays out.
