Ooh, nice. Respect for that, definitely.

I just pulled that one out of nowhere and googled it after the fact.

I was surprised I found anything relevant to that, lol.

Seriously?
If the Ea rep is right then an announcement tomorrow sounds right(IIRC they announced the cerberus assault armor and weapon a day before release).Guessing the starmap is like those star charts on Illium, would probl have hammerhead exclusive planets.

If this is true that is awesome ... and, maybe deserving of it's own thread?

I hate to encourage people creating YET ANOTHER Hammerhead thread, but I think it might merit it. Hopefully, it will kill all the current threads so that we'll only have one on the front page.

Just a thought.

I don't think that they would release maps on a whole bunch of new star systems JUST so the Hammerhead would have places to work. The Galaxy map is cluttered enough. Plus that would mean dozens of more planets to scan and work with, which would not really be neccesary. what I think will happen is that some existing planets will be modified and given terrains to allow the M-57 to land on them. It makes sense, at least in my mind.

And Bioware, if you can, make the Hammerhead land on the Asteroid bit of Omega. that'd be cooooool)

Uhm ... no it's not. It's mostly clear.

I don't think that they would
release maps on a whole bunch of new star systems JUST so the
Hammerhead would have places to work.

They did already introduce the mechanics of Star Charts ... for basically no reason in the base game. Makes sense it would be to provide a mechanic for them to add stuff with DLC.

And doing it this way makes sense because they aren't just going to add planets into solar systems, or add landable zones on planets players have already scanned and gotten a 100% on and will therefore miss. How ELSE could they possibly do it EXCEPT for adding more systems to visit?

Plus that would mean dozens of more planets to scan and work with, which would not really be neccesary.

I don't really think it takes them much time or effort to make up a planet and fill it with resources.

Is this an argument that they wouldn't waste the massive amount of time and resources generating spheres with random textures on them? Heck, they could take planets already in the game, just change the color, and I doubt we'd ever catch on.

And Bioware, if you can, make the Hammerhead land on the Asteroid bit of Omega. that'd be cooooool)

Ok, now I know you're just a loon.

Sir, you logic makes some sense. I don't know how, but it does.

That's where all the systems in ME1 are. You even have bleed over in ME2 to a ME1 system, Hawking Eta.

Ya would be cool if they can add Novera(sp) or any ME1 system as a DLC =p

Oh it could be fun as all get out, undoubtedly.

You're still a madman for even bringing it up though. ;)

No offense giosclone but until I get confirmation from BioWare or co I'm not expecting the Hammerhead this week.

On the subject of systems, Im hoping most DLC uses already available systems. The game simply doesnt need any more. The galaxy is populated by a massive amount of systems you can visit and a vast, vast majority have no interaction or landing zones. It feels pretty empty, especially when you fly to different systems aftering warping to a cluster, only to find there's nothing to do except scan planets.

DLC needs to fill these systems will stuff to do, not add new ones.

Definitely. Would be weird if you could only land on newly added planets. I'm really hoping the planets feel as large as the ME1 planets did. Would like a bit more variety in landscapes though.

Landscapes weren't the issue (The Vistas were awesome). it's just the everything seemed to be smack dab in the middle of tectonic shock zones.

I agree, the vistas were sweet, it's just that there never seemed to be anything but mountains. We need better craters, vegetation or more stuff to investigate. More stuff to do in general, even if it's just collecting medallions and insignias or something again.

Have to disagree. Most of the ME1 mako-explorable planets looked the EXACT same with slightly different colored dirt (and occasionally different colored sky) and the same structures that were magically bigger inside than they look outside.

It'd be alot cooler if you would be driving on a world with trees, running over some 6 legged cows and pyjaks, then you would stumble on a colony. Or a town full of raving cannibals.

And I want a world with a trippy skyline. Like vibrant neon colors on a dark backdrop. Turn a trip with a hammerhead into a real 'trip'. But that's just me.

The problem with the planets in ME1 were those mountains... seriously, it was like if Mont Everest and the Geth impalers made love... and the lack of flora was horrible... you got planets with grass but no tree-like plants... or at least bushes... add to that the Mako's nasty habit of jumping, turning and just all around silliness to annoy you and you got a horrible time waster right there...

I can deal with Mako's extraordinary driving mechanics... I can live with barren planets (though I'd really like to see some PLANTS on the planets with grass...) but they have to do something about those rockhillmountainimpalers... seriously

Are you sure you really looked at the sky? The most trippy sky was the one around the blue giant taking up practically half the sky and then off to your right there is an earth like planet just chilling like nothing is happening.

Yeah, you're right, the sky comment was incorrect, I'm replaying through ME1 and realized that the sky is actually really cool on alot of uncharted worlds. I kept randomly shooting the Mako's guns at random spots on earth from the moon and imagining carnage haha.

But there's no denying that between planets there is little variation in the ground. Just different textures with different elevations, no grass or anything. Just snow.

There are some cool ambient effects like snow (for a simple one) or floating pollen particles, just wish they actually showed plants producing the pollen, or different structures other than GENERIC_CAVEENTANCE, GENERIC_SPACEBUILDING, or GENERIC_UNDERGROUNDBUILDING.
(I'm perfectly aware that those aren't real names. You get my point.)

My suspicion level increased tenfold when he callied the hammerhead a buggie.
