But there's no denying that between planets there is little variation in the ground. Just different textures with different elevations, no grass or anything. Just snow.

There is grass. Or at least green texture and one planet with actual animals (pyjaks?). So I'm going to call it grass. But that's about it. The only difference is the color.

Just got off the phone with an EA rep.

he said a "Hammerhead Buggie DLC" and "Extra Starmap DLC"
are to be released Wednesday the 24th.

Im hoping it will officially from bioware tommorrow or on wednesday.

I hope this is true.

My suspicion level increased tenfold when he callied the hammerhead a buggie.

That said I can totally picture an EA rep calling the Hammerhead a 'buggie' :P

How about somebody else calls EA and gets a confirmation? I'm not going to believe this on some whim of a forum member.

Then feel free not to believe it. That's a perfectly valid response.

Is anyone planning on commiting any action based on this information though? If the answer is no, it's not like you really need to commit one way or the other. We could just wait and see how it develops.

You know, looking at the Hammerhead key bindings, I bet we wont even be able to exit/enter the vehicle.

Why not? I thought blindly believing everything you read was the name of the game in these forums.

I have a feeling they will wait to release info on it untill either noon, 3-4 or around 7, because it will be when everyone would mostly be online. I cant freakin wait!

Hopefully they make the announcement today before too many more people fall into this.

I don't sympathize with people who complain about 1st day DLC - it's much better than the alternative, DLC after you've moved on from the game.

Hammerhead hits in the next 30 hours though? Just in time for alot of people. Personally, I can't wait.

I'm not quite there yet, but I am getting pretty close.  Currently playing AVP, but if the ME2 DLC takes much longer I won't really care anymore, and if the 400 MSpoints rumour is true then I'll prob'ly be too apathetic to bother paying for it if it takes much longer...

Demanding DLC is a bit...silly, isn't it? Who cares when BioWare said it would be released, if its not finished its not finished. DLC expands the game, nothing more, and developers are not expected to develop in the first place.

ME2 is fine as it is. Extra DLC is a bonus. We'll get it when its done.

I do not consider the Hammerhead as a DLC. I believe that the Hammerhead, Kasumi, Liara DLC was planned during the development of ME2.
The traces of DLCs on the installation DVD makes me wonder that BIOWARE will try to make us buy content which sould have been included in the released game.

The current rumor says that the Hammerhead will cost 400 points

Uuuuugh not this crap again.

Dude, content is cut from all games. All of them. Every game ever made has content planned right up until the last minute that gets cut. Every one of them. No game ships with everything they intended to develop in the package.

You're right; Kasumi, Hammerhead, whatever, was all probably planned to be in the final game. You know what? There was probably tons of other things they planned to include that wont even show up as DLC.

But the nature of game development is that a developer and a publisher have to work out a development time and release date. Publishers dont want to fund game development forever, and they most defintiely do not let developers just keep going for as long as they want.

In the development of every single game the publisher and developer must prioritise important aspects of the game over other aspects and shape development time around this. Stuff gets cut. Liara's mission in the original Mass Effect was supposed to have a HUB and extra quests, but we got a straight-forward linear mission because they didnt have the development time and resources to finish it.

The same goes for all this DLC we're seeing for ME2. Its not finished. Just because some content was left in the files doesnt mean it was finished. Dig into the files of any game out there and you'll find beta content, cut content, and missing 'features'. The stuff we're getting as DLC was not possible to properly develop, test, and package into the game before the date that EA and BioWare had agreed on to set the game as gold.

Its not hard to work out and I really hate this demanding attitude people have with DLC. Mass Effect 2 is the complete game BioWare and EA were capable of delivering. As has been said by BioWare in the past, the option for DLC allows them to pick up cut content and rebuild it for the game, releasing it for use. Any other scenario would have the content swept away.

If we have to buy it, we do. No big deal.

Sorry if I came off grumpy. I'm just sick of some people out there whining about cut content as if BioWare deliberately excluded elements from the game, and as if the concept of content being cut from games never happens (despite happening in every game ever).

What 400 point rumor? The one started by the guy who said some no name phone operator at EA gave him exclusive information?

Oh ya that is some solid footing to base speculation on.
