She is not. In screens she is clearly standing around the official player char, which is the dark haired guy who runs around in Juggernaut/Gold Juggernaut/Black armor depending on the scene.

Like I said, I'm betting she's a Grey Warden of some sort. Maybe Orlesian.

To be honest, this is Oghren - he's likely to make jibes like that regardless. I did consider the female warrior being the player character, though. It is a possibility, but that would naturally preclude it being her in the upper screenshot - next to the player.

Personally, I find it rather funny that while the black-haired human rogue probably has some fo the most screentime in the trailers, we have yet to even receive a name by which to call him =P. Maybe he'll be next week - 2 mages then 2 rogues, and finally the warrior, unless Oghren gets his own trailer as well...

Sweet. Sigrun looks like a really awesome addition to the Wardens. Its nice to see a female dwarf party member as well, mostly because its something new. =)

As far as who the last companions are; I have an idea, but its just that.
The descrepences that we see in trailers and such as to who the last party members are, may be choice related. Maybe that choice is from Awakening or something you did in Origins. Perhaps its a "one or the other" type deal. Maybe some of the unnamed party members we've seen dont survive the Joining.

I think those are all posibilities anyway.

Since it was asked: the entire Legion of the Dead is not gone.

Remember that the Legion of the Dead heads out into the Deep Roads on a regular basis -- and then fight until they all die. So they all die on a pretty regular basis. Essentially once enough dwarves become Legionairres  for there to be a full unit they head out and don't come back.

Unless they are found by a nosy grey warden passing through.

Maybe he is the guy from the Pennyarcade comic?

The male rogue-looking guy always reminds me of Riordan when I see the trailers, so because of that I have a stuck-mind-set that he is from Orlais *grins* Perhaps an Armand, or Johannes... Henric? lol

Yup could be the dude though from the comic as well though. Hair suits at any rate. If that is the case however, the Orlesian names would seem, well, cruel and wrong. :P

re pic above:  KILLER weaponry!

That picture of Sigrun is ridiculously badass. I saw it earlier.

On the subject of the human rogue. He does look like the Penny Arcade character. And seeing as the other Rogue spec' is 'Shadow', and he seems to be a very sneaking-type rogue, it would make sense. Also, I find it suspicious that despite being in almost every trailer, he has yet to have a background or even be named. Maybe this comic will be his slow exposition?

The weapon she's wielding is less of a morning star than a malformed barbeque rotisserie.  It'd snag and hang up on chain or plate in a heartbeat.  Sweet Jesus, BioWare, knock it off already with the preposterously designed and/or proportioned weapons.  Image IPB

Edit: Aha!  It looks like a lawn aerator.  That's it!  Image IPB

Oh I see. Thanks for that information. It's a sad but honorable line of work being a Legionaire it seems.

Oh, c'mon, it's not that bad... in fact, I want BIGGER weapons. VERY BIG!

Warning : may contain violence! Do not watch until your kids are covered below the bed... or whatever...

Well, at least the inspiration was (likely) based on real horrendous weaponry.

Image IPB

Wish I could remember the history atm but there was some great famous lord or hotshot who was blind and so would run around fighting with a similarly ridiculous morningstar mace/flail thingie --- points all over the place mean you don't need to see quite so well.

Ser Otto should have carried around this one :)

dark-lauron,

The new companion has appeal, but if they were going to go through the trouble of creating new weapons, the could've spent the zots more wisely by designing an elegant, single-hand bec de corbin instead of that...thing.

Yes, it's plenty bad.

A single whorl of longer spikes = OK.  Multiple whorls of much shorter spikes = OK.  Multiple whorls of long spikes would render that thing not only unwieldable because of the weight, but also ineffective because of the striking force being spread out over so many points that it wouldn't penetrate armor properly.

It's insipidly fantastical and simply doesn't belong in a "dark and gritty" setting.  Image IPB

there is probably more myth to the "blind lord" than fact. but flails and morningstars are awesome weapons-

VERY much a more important and prominent battlefield presence during the "age of plate" than swords were.

EDIT:

the more i look at that peice of **** she has the less i like it-

the one thing i really liked about the weapons in dao is that most of them were very realistic and basically took historically accurate models- this looks so ridiculous and unweildy that i won't be using it-

wait- i won't be using the midget character eitehr so it doesn't matter.

As I have not read all the posts made thus far since Mr. Gaider pointed us to the G4 Trailer, I won't go into too much detail on observations, who was acutally *in* the Trailer, etc. I will, however, say that, beyond a shadow of a doubt, Sigrun is the FIRST new Character introduced that has me truly excited to play Awakenings. Don't get me wrong, I was excited about the Story and the return of my Grey Warden Commander, but, honestly, the Characters introduced so far have seemed lack-luster at best. Now, with Sigrun, I've had my first, "Oh, this one will HAVE to be in my Party," moment. So, thank you Bioware for proving you can still craft some truly Epic Characters, and thank you Mr. Gaider for pointing us to the G4 Site for that Trailer.

P.S. Please, Mr. Gaider, get the Art Dept folks to whip up some amazing Character Wallpapers this time around. DA:O only ever had the Origins ones and they were, well...meh. Love to have a Sigrun Wallpaper NOT uploaded from DeviantArt for once.

P.P.S Oh, and sorry, I meant Chris Preistly instead of Gaider. Sorry, was reading another post and got all Ass Backwards.

There's no need to discriminate against the dark and gritty fantastical weapons.  Dark and gritty can quite often mean over the top, especially in regards to instruments of violence.

Then the weapon is under-the-top, its technically pretty ineffective as a weapon.
