Ohhh, what a pity... :(

I've tested your black beret, and it isn't convincent. The reason is because it has no color tone. I mean, the default beret has it's color naturally changing according to the illumination, while the black beret is just always pitch black regardless of where you're. Sadly, that even more unrealistic that black spots randomly appearing.

My suggestion (if possible and if it can be done with little effort) is to add tonality to the black beret, and maybe add some other dark colors, like dark blue. That should work. You could also change the Alliance emblem to a nice, golden one (Black & Gold always makes a good combo).

Well, just suggesting though ^^ Thx anyway for your try.

The beret does not have a standard RGB texture. It only has a bit map image which dictates the shapes and curves, (which is extremely hard to modify, and an inverted texture which determines light or darkness on the object. The only color I could change it to is jet black. This will solve the issue of the clipping hair showing as it all blends while giving a dark badazz look to it. It is either going to be the way it is now, or the way it is by default. There is no other middle ground on this unfortunately.



I know it may seem like these projects bend to our will however we choose, but unfortunately it is we that must find ways around obstacles and limitations set by the Bioware team in not giving us proper mod tools.

You mean it has no texture map and only has some kind of normal map? :o

Sort of, it has a map that determines the shape ( a portion of it anyway ) and a texture that determines the luminosity/glow. So what I did was basically turn off all glow and luminosity to make it APPEAR black, even though I didnt actually color anything. See what I mean? I don't know if its because this was an item we got through ini modification or what, but trust me, I looked for a looong time and the only textures I found were those two, leading me to believe that the color is hard coded into the object. (beret)

Good at least I can't see shepard's face :D but it's a shame that the glass textures and the iron man' mask didn't work to well. Can you upload it? I want to give it a try!!! :o

Okay, quick update for two of my projects.  For all mods that replaced the N7 logo with a Cerberus one for Shepard, I had placed the Cerberus logo on the wrong side of the chest, which looked out of place if you were with Jacob, Miranda, or , once it is finished, my Cerberus Loyalty Project.  Anywho, the corrected versions are now up, for anyone who was using them.  These files will say 'FIXED' in the description.

so if it is an unreal engine, is possible to put not only new textures but also customs models with their own values (you know: +10 shields, etc)

(If i didn't wrote this well tell me and I'll TRY to correct it)

Hello all, I didn't want to post here until the project was completed. I had been doing updates on the modding is possible section, but now that its complete I am posting it here for the main community.

Black weapon mods is now 100% complete for its first version.

Update:

I have completed a request for different colors for crosshairs. I have completed Black, Blue and Magenta crosshairs. (for dem ladiez) ;)

There are currently the three colors to choose from. The color change will affect the standard crosshair, sniper rifle crosshair, and the heavy weapon crosshair.

I am open to doing other colors on request.
