As for L2 side effects, I got the impression from the first game that everyone using the implant suffered side effects, though they most cases are mild to moderate.

Regarding Miranda's biotic abilities, my theory is that she was created as a biotic with experimental implants not on the list. One of the reasons Miranda's father needed so many tries to get his daughter right is that this was a high-risk operation with many failures, with symptoms manifesting in different ways and at different times.

As I mentioned on the last page, I express my Miranda love primarily through writing fanfic. I'm writing a second story that I may or may not advertise here, but I have a question: are there any types of stories or plots that you'd like to see in Miranda-fic but aren't. Me, I'd like to see more stories where the focus isn't on romance or the romance plays out differently.Something dealing with her relationship with Oriana or a story where she and Shepard had some prior relationship. Or even a story where she's paired with someone else.

I'd like to see a post ME Galaxy fic that expands on what happened between Miranda and Jacob. Stories on Miranda's past would be thoroughly interesting simply because we have so little on it.

I'm not sure why you wouldn't advertise your second fanfic however....

Because I don't think it'd go over well here. The basic plot is that Shepard is unwilling to be bait for Morinth, so Miranda does.

I like that idea, Ieldra. It may work better than my own, which was to give them an actual prior friendshi/romance spanning six years, on and off. Then her cover gets blown, that identity has to die, and they don't meet again until the game. I'm a sucker for "second chance at love" stories,  but Shepard's coming off as a bit too perfect, and I'm still ubdecided on structure.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, gutty. We'll see how it goes. I haven't seen much in the way of Miranda/female except for a few stories where she's paired with Jack.

You like "second chance at love" stories, so you write another story that turns the ME2 Miranda romance into one. I like the way you think .

As for the "not advertised" story, if it's on fanfiction.net at some time, I'll find it. I remember you said I'd hate it - well, I may not exactly like it, but there's a lot of room between that and hate. It takes a lot to make me hate a story. You'd have to write a kitschy romance with stereotypical people wallowing in overblown emotions at the expense of plausibility and characterization, that would probably do it. I can't see you writing something like that.....

The reason you'd hate it, Ieldra is that Miranda's detachment in this story is a bit more extreme. She doesn't have Shepard or Oroana, and Niket is dead/ No real friends or confidants. And Mirinth picks up on that and uses it against her.

Then it may just be that you're mistaken. I already like the setup. I think detachment is, primarily, a desirable state of mind, except, of course, where it gets too extreme and destructive. A story that explores the area where the desirable turns into the destructive is at least interesting to me. I can see Miranda learning something about herself in that story - if she survives.

I can always remember one during the tutorial section at the start of the game, I think something is displayed on the subtitles but you don't actually hear her say it or something like that.
