Random thought: Miranda is the only female LI you don't have to rescue at any point. You save Ashley from the geth on Eden Prime, Liara on Therum, Tali on the Citadel, Freedom's Progress and Haestrom, and you break Jack out of jail. Nothing similar for Miranda.

Yes. And here you have one of the reasons why Miranda is the first NPC in a video game I consider myself a fan of, in more than 20 years of gaming.

Just for the record I'd like to withdraw my "Being an L2 gave Miranda headaches/chronic pain" theory. I just got through the beginning of ME and Chakwas only says some have side effects. And I REALLY liked that theory, too. Bit of projection, I suppose. Oh, well.

If you really want to go that way, it's by no means impossible. It's just not a foregone conclusion that she must have side effects. I like her past better without this element, though.

BTW, you're playing ME, too? I'm running another maleShep through ME1. It's strange how BW could go from such a good main plot implementation to a formulaic and uninspired one in ME2. There's so much better in ME2 - why must the main plot of all things be so much worse.

 

I suspec projection has a good bit to do with it. I'm disabled myself, though more visibly and less painfully than what I'd give Miranda. I've also noticed that the version I'm giving the condition too is having her ruthlessness de-emphasized in favor of her better qualitiesm though I suspect having Paragon Shep around is a factor, too

Trying to get my MaleShep just right. The main plot is better, but the side missions are such a chore. Alsom staying single without letting Ash die is way harder than it should be.

Don't worry, I don't really like the engine room setting either. I would have preferred the scene to take place in Shepard's cabin, would've given the whole thing more of a personal feel I think.
