I've always thought Miranda saw sex as just another tool in the box. Her father paid for her looks. She might as well use them.

Not sure, if her looks being amazing has much to do with her views on sex, if the views of the ME universe are any more like reality's I doubt that she using sex as her tool to get her way would further her personal ''goal''. The goal for her seems to be, that she wishes to be scene as a person not so much as a tool nor as a product of her father's.

Good morning everyone. Because I've been seriously lacking in the Miranda discussions lately, I'll do my best to make up for that now.











Also, I was wondering... if Miranda had never joined up with Cerberus and had somehow managed to guarantee that her father wouldn't bother her any further, what do you think she would have done? What goals do you see her setting for herself? Would she have become even more closed off from others or would she have gradually become more personable?

@Jtav: I always thought that she would use the idea of sex to manipulate men. She seems to be the type who wouldn't demean herself by actually doing it just to get what she wants.

@Meg: Hm, the only other plausible person would be the Shadow Broker. Alliance wouldn't work since Cerberus has agents in there. I think she would keep her professionalism and still be emotionally distant. She would probably become and expert at lying too.

As for your question Meg, it' really tough to say. I'm trying to come up with something but I can't quite imagine her not working with Cerberus to begin with.

It seems to me that she's pretty deeply internalized that her worth is defined by how useful she is. She's confident in her abilities, but her actual self-esteem is low.

The events of the game, especially the romance, allow her to move beyond it, but she definitely sees herself as a collection of skills and attributes to be used for Cerberus. The sex is a part of that. She knows people find her desirable, and she would use that with the same mindset she'd use her biotics. I'm not saying she's indiscriminate. I'm saying she'll do what she has to to get the job done.

Yeah, I can't really say what I think she would be doing either. I just thought it was an interesting thought. Would she try to make her own path? Or would she go to some other entity with resources she could use, like the Shadow Broker? I don't know if I could see the former. While she's more than capable of starting at the bottom and working her way up, I just don't know if I could see her doing it. I think she would view that as a waste of time when she could just go to someone else and get the start she needs.
