I just like the look on her face. Seen it a million times in RL.
Elcor Miranda says: "Resigned disappointment, I'm up here, Shepard."

I honestly hadn't put much serious thought to her or Shepard's interactions with their children (if they had any), but that sounds like such an endearing and sweet moment that I couldn't think of any other way to end her story now. As for the trials she's faced/facing... Usually a character is all the better for being put under the most extreme circumstances. Take Harry Potter for example. JKR was pretty brutal to him, if you really think about it, but in my mind, there is no other way his story could ever have been half as incredible as it was. I'm starting to feel the same way about your ideas toward Miranda.

Very true Meg. Admittedly, I'm a sucker for happy(ish) endings. I like it when there's a satisfying resolution to the story, for certain. For my part, a satisfying resolution to the Shep/Miri romance at the end of ME3 would have them sticking together & admitting to eachother that they're nuts about eachother. Certainly my personal view (as I've said before) has them settling down when they're ready and bringing up a family.

Upthread I mentioned that my ultimate happy ending for Miranda is her telling her own daughter she loves her unconditionally. Most of that is because my own view of her is deeply tied to the fact that I think her dad psychologically abused her. The cycle's broken, her demons put to rest. But I'm curious: do you guys think she'll ever want kids?

Sorry MA.
I feel very strange because I place slightly less importance on the romance than some of you. I want it to end well--in universes where it happens. But mostly I want her to find someone who really does love her for herself and for her to put her demons to rest. I want her to love someone, with all the vulnerability that implies. I don't care whether that person is Shepard.

If Shepard doesn't romance her, then I agree whole heartedly.
But since I will romance her quite often, there is no worries unless BW screws us!
On placing importance... I'm a romantic at heart, so love always places first in my books. I don't particularly care for stories that do not feature it as a significant aspect. That is why I like Bioware so much... their games allow the player to stress what they feel is important, normally......... Awakenings....
