Do people want Miranda in ME3 for her character value or combat skills? Or both? I found her a better character than a combat partner.

Both, the extra damage she brings is mint!

I'm back. Feel once again like I'm speaking a different language than some people on the forum. I very much doubt Miranda will find anyone else in game, but that's what futurefic and AU are for. I refuse to have her be alone for the rest of her life, even if only in my head, because Shep's affections are otherwise engaged. My fanfic background's showing again, isn't it?

Like MA said, both. I loved her character, but even before I did, I always brought her along simply because she  was invaluable in combat.

I want to see her back for:

A) Her character... okay, continuation of our romance

B) Her utility. Overload was very useful. Her tactician/leader values were also useful being multiplicative.

C) Her combat skills. She was ridiculously accurate with her SMG fire-support, even with no upgrades and with a Shuriken at mid distance. Her wrists are apparently very strong... Slam was also effective both as a CC and a damage utility (have you seen how much damage a Slam ontop of a lift does? Ouchies!)

The only thing I want, and this extends to all characters really... Is more skills that your AI can use, and more intelligence in gameplay. I can't count how many times they've moved into my arc of firesupport, nor how many times they resolutely ignored cover or how many times they didn't actually shoot something.

Combat skills. Definitely combat skills.

Warp and Overload FTW!

Someone on the main forum is saying Miranda is a ruthless killer just as bad as Jack. Do I want to bother to refute that or no? God knows, I'm a proponent of ambiguous Miranda, but come on! She has standards.

Leave it alone. Also I can understand where you are coming from in regards to Miranda's future as well as having her end up with someone else. The main reason that most of us don't see it the same way is because she is the LI we romance so thinking of her running off into the sunset without Shep doesn't make sense.

I also think it has a lot to do with how we as players see Shepard. I feel like BioWare made a fantastic choice by letting us pick out certain things about Shep's past. I very seldom see two people view Shepard the same way. Errr I knew where I was going with this just a second ago and now its gone...I hate my brain.

Dammit, dammit, dammit. I just read a major spoiler on the Chuck forums. Gah! Now that's all I will be able to think about when I watch the episode.

Knowing your opinions on past episodes and how you view things, I take this as a very good sign. :wizard:

See, Shep/Miranda is a complete nightmare to write because he's such a blank slate. Miranda can literally fall in love with any type of person as long as he's human, male, and an ex-Spectre. I have to essentially build the character from the ground up. Not all combinations work in a story, even if they work in game. Of course, if I can create the right Shep, it works very well and is wonderfully romantic.
