So Miranda is more honest with herself, as opposed to being open with her emotions with others? I suppose I can see that. I'd disagree with Tali being trapped by her emotions, though. She's a patriotic young woman who happens to have some prejudices against a species that drove her people from their homeworld.

...after the quarians tried to destroy them. Yeah, right. I understand Tali's opinion, but that she refuses to consider her people's role in that conflict makes her immature. Tali is an example for why I say that (unreflected) patriotism is not a virtue.

Miranda tries to justify Cerberus' atrocities in much the same way Tali refuses to see her people's fault in the Geth conflict. What makes Miranda more "mature" (don't know if this is the correct word to use here) is that she realizes and acknowledges her mistake.

Seeing as Miri does not act like a baby and yells? Miri is very calm when you talk to her about Cerberus, unlike Tali with the Geth she always becomes to immature. Miri gets mad if you side with Jack but unlike Tali whpo is a big **** if you side with Legion Miri just gives you a chilly resecption. Why won't people admit? Tali is very immature and emointal. Hell just say you don't want to date her and see how she acts. At least Miri says it's for the best because it would mess up the mission, Tali is a baby. Thats why I think of her as a little sister.

Well unfortunately for me I have a chronic case of Patellar Tendinitis in my right knee.  Usually perfectly manageable and not much of a problem.  However, last Easter I randomly injured my achilles tendon in my right heel, and even though it healed up it's been getting steadily worse over the last two weeks and so has my tendinitis.

Today was almost unbearable at work, I've been in agony all day and I'm just glad to be home and sat down.

Hi Reavus & Kraidy

How was the GOW this morning? Did it happen, the guys were talking about it earlier?

Here's an update of a previous poster.

The idea would be that just like Bond looses the women he loved and thus went hard core so this poster symbolises Shepard if Miri were to get killed. (Or whatever, just look at the poster!)

See you survived the slap from Meg. Hehe. Anyway, I have fallen in love with this free photoshop program calle Gimp, I am using my free time at work (free time that has just ran out) to create some stuff for the thread.

Miranda does work for a terrorist organization, you know. She may have reasoned that their actions are for the greater good, but that doesn't negate the fact that they are up to some questionable activities. What motivaton does Miranda have for her loyalty to Cerberus if not patriotism or nationalism? Reflected patriotism doesn't necessarily mean you are right.

I'm not anti-Miranda in any way (seriously, she's awesome) it's just I dislike negative accusations against Tali that are made while ignoring the fact that similar arguments can be made against Miranda. Tali has some bias against Geth and has done some questionable things against them? Miranda works for what is, for all intents and purposes, a human supremecy group. Tali isn't and empowered character? You can argue the same for Miranda.

And I didn't want to come across as anti-Tali. Perhaps I should have let my original argument stand and not try to insert other aspects. Of course you're correct that Miranda's Cerberus loyalty has some blindness in it. But the fact remains that in the end, Miranda either resigns or doubts Shepard's decision about handing over the base to TIM. So in the end, her loyalty, or what remains of it, isn't that blind anymore. I can see Tali changing in the same way at some time, but the fact is that in ME2 she doesn't.

All the while I maintain that Miranda has a clearer picture of herself than Tali, and that Tali seems more often trapped by her emotions - see also kraidy1117's answer abovethread.. Please don't take that as dislike of her.

Tali is willing to put aside differences with Legion, at least if you have high persuade. Her emotions can't be that closed off.

But then you could convince a Hanar that the enkindlers are jerks with a high enough persuade skill.

Ok, I've just finished catching up on the activity from while I was away and there is one thing I feel I should comment on.

Reading through the ridiculously dragged out Harley-Quinn joke and keeping Odin trapped, well just from reading it it seemed to me that Odin was pretty sick of the joke fairly early on. A joke only works with willing participants and when one (or more) of the parties involved in a joke keep it going on and on and on and on and on when another participant does not wish to keep it going then it is no longer a joke.  The Harley-Quinn joke seemed to go on for so long that it became almost painful to keep reading it and from my perspective it became just about as tasteless as the incident of a few weeks ago. Odin did his best to politely end the joke at a reasonable point and ended up only being able to end it by going to bed and thus no longer being here.

It may have been funny to begin with, but it went past the point of being funny and into the realms of annoying fairly early on it seemed. If, however, I've misread this then I'm sure Odin will correct me when he gets on.

Morning.

About Miranda having more female fans than Tali, I wouldn't know because I don't visit that thread. But Miranda grabbed my attention from the moment she shot Wilson. She's no nonsense, unapologetic ally does what needs to be done and more than capable of taking care of herself. She's passionately committed to a cause, and her eventual rejection of that cause is based purely on principal. Tali and Liara come off as auxiliaries to Shepard. He's the most important thing in their world. Liara pretty much snaps because she "couldn't let you go" and Tali has a massive case of hero worship. Not so Miranda. She has prior goals, ties, and principals. She won't throw them over for Shepard. When he dies again, she'll grieve, but she wouldn't make some devil's bargain in hope of bringing him back. In fact, she's one of the few characters I would trust to take Shep out if he were indoctrinated. And she's abile to have a boyfriend without becoming weaker or less competent.

How could I not love that?

Yeah, I agree. I love a joke as much as anybody obviously, but it did go on for a little bit too long last night/this morning.

Edit: Good morning, jtav, how are you today?

Um Jtav have you read the books or even listened to Liara. She did not know if Shepard was dead or alive, she went looking for him and ran into Cerberus. It was Miri and Liara who worked together to get Shepard back. Tali however is one of those shy girls who has a huge rush on a hero.
