It's not just you. That's one of the main reasons I chose her as Shepard's LI, she just fits him perfectly IMO.

Morning.

About Miranda having more female fans than Tali, I wouldn't know because I don't visit that thread. But Miranda grabbed my attention from the moment she shot Wilson. She's no nonsense, unapologetic ally does what needs to be done and more than capable of taking care of herself. She's passionately committed to a cause, and her eventual rejection of that cause is based purely on principal. Tali and Liara come off as auxiliaries to Shepard. He's the most important thing in their world. Liara pretty much snaps because she "couldn't let you go" and Tali has a massive case of hero worship. Not so Miranda. She has prior goals, ties, and principals. She won't throw them over for Shepard. When he dies again, she'll grieve, but she wouldn't make some devil's bargain in hope of bringing him back. In fact, she's one of the few characters I would trust to take Shep out if he were indoctrinated. And she's abile to have a boyfriend without becoming weaker or less competent.

How could I not love that?

Garrus, Mordin, Samara and Grunt anyone?

I'm not just talking combat ability

Tali is willing to put aside differences with Legion, at least if you have high persuade. Her emotions can't be that closed off.

But then you could convince a Hanar that the enkindlers are jerks with a high enough persuade skill.

You just contradicted your point with that Hannar bit......

I am aware. It would be disingenuous of me to ignore the fact that the game allows Shepard to be very, very persuasive. Like Shepard's ability to convince a hardened spy to drop her former employer in favor of him and his ideals.

I forgot to mention Wrex too. Those guys would kill Shepard if they had too, Garrus would be very upset but he would do it. Mordin does not mind gettinmg his hands dirty if he must, Samara's code would make her kill Shepard, Grunt is a Korgan and Krogans value death. Wrex and Shepard are very close and Wrex would most likely kill Shepard to ease his pain. Thoseguys resepcr and honor Shepard. Tali, Ash, Kaidan, Liara, Thane, Jack either worship, don't care about him, only with him for freedome or to have a death and don't realy care.

Both points were mentioned in the first thread quite often... and then again in this thread (probably more than once... I know we were talking about it ~500 pages ago).

I'd repost my binary star analagy but thats only a page or so ago.

Guardian: not just you. She's his subordinate in only the most technical sense. They're partners--in more ways than one.

planguy: You don't convince her. She resigns even if non-loyal or you never spoke to her. It's pure principle.

It's just you two. Garrus, Mordin, Grunt, Samara and Wrex are Shepards equal.

Shepard could persuade the grim reaper not to take him....

I don't really like the paragon and renegade 'solve every argument' options.

Sorry, I didn't even see the binary star analogy.  Where is it?  I'll have a read.

The manifest is the charter of Mirimaniachood.  We need to do a better job linking people who visit our thread to it.  I know I certainly take it for granted that people here understand where we are coming from. Image IPB

Shepard and Miranda are like a binary star system. They both shine brightly and pull and push on each other but neither is diminished or dulled by the loss of the other.

Others tend to be more like planets orbiting Shepard with other LIs just being the closest planet.[/quote]

The interesting thing is that you don't convince her. She does it even if non-loyal and without a persuasion check.

Speaking of, am I the only one who thinks one of Miranda's duties on the mission was to kill Shepard if he proved uncontrollable?

Does not matter, even if she is unloyal and still tells TIm to f off she dies anyways.

I don't think TIM would sacrifice humanity's possible only chance at salvation from the reapers.

Yeah Miranda makes the decision on her own to leave Cerberus after seeing the Collector Base.  She is a big girl and can make her own choices.

I hope if Bioware goes for the romance pack they advance along the scenario with her sister.

I wouldn't really say that Miranda is all that open about her emotions. And is she really "empowered"? She seems to define herself more as a tool then a person, and in many ways her self image is defined by the men in her life. I mean, sure, she rejected her father, but she still let his view of her and her purpose mold her life. And later in her life she joined up with the Illusive Man, whose only virtue in comparsion to her father seems to be that he is up front about using her. Miranda may draw comfort from having chosen a master instead of having one forced on her, but she still chose a master.

I may be channelling my inner jtav but it could be argued that Miranda has once again chosen a new master in Shepard.

Its always interesting what pops in my head in the wee hours of the morning.
