I'd say helping defeat the Reapers is "proving one self". There are other areas outside of constant danger where she can learn new skills and test her limits. No, not that...I was talking about parenthood...

I know none of us really see Miranda as the "settling down" type, but I keep thinking about the conversation where she talks about Oriana having a "normal life" and a family. I think she'd do her best to give her children the same... maybe not stay home all the time, but not running across the galaxy as much either.

This is what I'm thinking too Jedi, but then again I picture my Shep telling everyone to **** off after the Reapers are done with. Let someone else save the galaxy for a change.

@ jtav: She could still work in intelligence/espionage but not be on the "front-lines" fighting it out.

I also got that vibe. She seems to resent being Miss Perfect and just wants a normal life.

Mavi! your back!

@ Everyone else.... I just imagine as Miranda as being the buisness parent that flies all over the galaxy comes home a for a week and just spoils the hell out of her kids and then goes on the next mission.  I hope Shepard knows how to cook...

Besides Spacer Shepard was raised aboard ship.  She could always take her children with her.

Unfortunately there was an error in the system.  The Death Star failed to fire.

If I have anything to say about it, my Shep is giving the council the middle finger for sure when this is done. I think he'd eventually go back to the Alliance military, maybe a groundside posting as an instructor for the N7 program with the occassional mission.

Thread's a bit quiet. So, I have an unambiguously positive theory (really!) Miranda would make a fantastic Spectre if she could ever internalize that she has value beyond her abilities. The only things that separate her from Shepard are charisma and confidence, and you don't need charisma to be a Spectre. In terms of abilities, she's a female Captain America. Peak human.

Miranda would make a great Spectre if not for one thing, the damned Council. She would have no patience to deal with them.

But I could see her becoming the SSTG's top agent if they allowed aliens to serve there. Not only do I think SSTG would be a much better fit for Miranda's personality, they seem better funded than the Spectres. Miranda herself says she envies Mordin's time in SSTG and doesn't mention the spectres.

@firecleaner That's pretty much how I see it too, except she's home a bit more often than a week at a time. In my head, Shep's the primary caretaker. Come to think of it, I invert traditional roles and attitudes almost exactly. He's the one who says I love you first and wants to get married.

The council is the representatives of the four main races (or one main race depending upon what choices you made).  Giving them the finger is equivalent ot giving the Salarians, Asari, Humans, and Turians.

So basically you plan to leave the Alliance and council space and go work for the Terminus systems?  Because giving the Council the finger IS giving the Alliance the finger.  Besides the Alliance treats you just as bad, if not worse, than the council does in ME2.  But nobody seems to notice that because you humans are all racists.

Well, in my game the Human councilman doesn't think much of the other council members, so I have that going for me.

I would much rather it be a partnership of equals rather than some inversion of 20th century gender roles.

Anyway men are notorious for saying 'I love you' first and too soon.  We burn brightly and fast while women need sometime to heat up.  Heck it is the male character who usually does it in fiction also.

In my "canon" RP game the Alliance comms Shep to order him to let the council go down with their ship...so I'll be giving the Alliance the middle finger because they use and abuse Shepard like there is no tomorrow.

With Shepard's and Miranda's relationship honestly I cant see it being any other way... It might because my "main" Shepard is Spacer/War Hero so he still got his mom and isn't as emotionally scared as Sole Survivor/Earthborn Shep's are... I can't see Miranda pushing to get married and having kids... I definetly see Shepard having to "fight" for it.

@ Mavi: I hope to see you back in the thread again, miss ya...

But wait a second isn't it Miranda who admits she loves Shepard first but indirectly with the 'crazy hormones' dialog?

Then the girl gets into difficult situation that causes the guy to question her right? :? Oh well, fortunately Shepard's reaction is our's to decide.

I think they should have pretty balanced relationship, with both doing things equally, however I don't think I am going to see Bioware going too much into depth on this. I like how the relationships are somewhat less shallow ones in games these days, while not the main focus of the games and hopefully never will be, they provide nice touch to it. Just played through both Uncharted 1 and I am soon done with the second, and I must say that without the hints of little drama brought by the two love interests I wouldn't have gotten as much out of the game.

Only thing that is beginning to annoy me,  is the fact that Claudia Black seems to be in every second game or TV series or movie I've watching lately. She doesn't disappoint, but wish I wouldn't be overdosed.

Now I am just going OT again, so I just stop here. :D

Yes that is the best part of video games.  There is not going to be any UST or WT/WT crap when I have control of one of the characters.

Well I think the primary reason most of us love Miranda for Shep is the fact she is on his level as a superhero badass and thus his perfect match.  It is also the reason I liked Ashely as well, though Miranda is simply more awesome.
